TV Series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

NERDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe there are only gonna be 8 episodes. Pretty convinced Sauron won't be revealed.

Not looking like it. They seem to be setting up several cliffhangers for next season. Can't imagine they're going to resolve any of these threads in episode 8
I read where he is NOT going to be revealed. At this point I’m just hoping we figure out who the homeless wizard is.

They are risking pissing off the the audience if they don’t pull off a badass ending and leave everyone hanging for a year.

This show is doing well. I'm still not sure who Sauron is or the grey wizard dude, but the build up and the butt kicking's along the way have been great.

Can we talk about how holy fucking hell excessive the soundtrack on this show is?

Did I fall asleep for a second and miss something?
Didn’t the black elf take the thingee and hide it where no one would know where it is?
How was it really close? And how did the kid know where it was?

Anyone watched the season finale yet?

I think the wizard will turn out to be Gandalf. I just hadn't realized that wizards were also immortal.

And not sure if already mentioned above, but the creepy bald ladies that are chasing the wizard, I think is probably the Nazgûl before they become ring wraiths.

The problem with that is this is the beginning of the 2nd Age, the Wizards didn't appear until about 1000 years into the 3rd age

Unfortunately, you couldn't be more wrong. Those ring wraiths were the men who were gifted rings at the beginning of FOTR.

I guess the show is out today but the group of us wont be together to see it until tonight. Spoilers are out there. I hope the old guy is Gandalf. He seems to be of that character. Just something is really off in his head at the moment. I assume the journey to middle earth was a hard one.

I think ... could be wrong here, but didn't aragorn say the ring wraiths were the 9 men given the rings of power by Sauron? If that's true then these three shouldn't be nasqul. I'm going to look that up.

There were many more rings than 9. I've read all of those books and can't really think of anything else, they could be. This would be their pre-LOTR form...they wouldn't have just conjured up something that didn't exist for this series.

Loved the appearance of the Balrog!

The balrog was the best....we put on LOTR episode one the other day just to see the balrog. On the rings...here is the poem...

"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne...

The things chasing the yet-to-be-named wizard aren't human. Nineteen rings were forged...and as they are creating some of this plot out of thin air, they reminded me of Ring Wraiths, so something like them is what I'm thinking.

I like your thoughts. Like you said, there are snippets of facts out there, but there are many, many more gaps to fill in where producers are going to have a lot of liberty.

I like the rings of powers so far. I have no clue who the three ... alien looking people are. Can't wait to see it play out.

I've enjoyed it as well, even if it is taking great liberties with Tolkien's unfinished last work.

Gonna watch tonight but not expecting much to be revealed. Maybe we find some stuff out in season two
