Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

I hate Texas.
With a passion.

But, I found it satisfying to watch them take Michigan out behind the woodshed today.

Great first half!
Shit O / penalties in 2nd half. D was still good.

Just good all around job in first half. Really mixed up the play calling and could run and throw pretty well. Got a lucky bounce on the last TD, but we could use some luck like that. D did what I expected as knew CU OL was weak spot. Really forced them to be one dimensional and didn't let Sanders get comfortable so the game didn't turn into some sort of track meet.

2nd half D wasn't quite as good at getting to Sanders but seemed like we rotated in a ton of 2nd/3rd guys. Offensively, some good plays but refs made some bad calls, although a few were legitimate holds, such as on Rahmirs long TD run. Of course they weren't calling the same holds on CU, even had crowd chanting holding while they were looking at the targeting by Gbayor. But just not blocking as well all around, they got a lot more QB pressure. WRs/TEs weren't doing a great job of separating either.

Our WRs really need to work on blocking, I was just really impressed with the CU WRs and how well they blocked.

ST - ugh. Really should spend some significant time this week. Blocking on punts was poor and tackling was poor. Not sure on Alvano at this point, is the ST coach trying to change something in his form? Just ask him what is different than the state championship game and see if you can get him back there.

Huskers #23 in AP poll. Think a ranking is a bit premature. They need to beat a good team first

Meh, looking good while beating a mediocre team will get the job done. Besides, SOMEBODY has to be ranked. It's early, rankings are irrelevant at point in the season anyway.

Do you mean Ohio St good?

Or Illinois, Purdue, Rutgers, Indiana, good? They're all off to a 'good' start.
Illinois has the best win over #19 Kansas in a close one, but everyone else has handled their cupcakes like they should have.

If Illinois (2-0) gets by Central Michigan then it'll likely be a (3-0) vs (3-0), in Lincoln, on Friday night FOX.
(1-0) Purdue has to play Notre Dame and @ Oregon St before they host Nebraska in our first road game.
(2-0) Rutgers plays @ Virginia Tech and hosts Washington before playing @ Nebraska
(2-0) Indiana plays @ UCLA, hosts Charlotte, hosts Maryland, and @ Northwestern, before hosting Nebraska.

Yea, this early in the season its hard telling who is real and who isn't. The problem with the games before Ohio State is those teams are considered average teams at best. Illinois and Rutgers are probably the two best of the group. I'm interested in how the IU team comes along. I think the UCLA game will give a better gauge of what they may or may not be.

I don't want to get way ahead of ourselves, but CU was one of the better offenses we are going to face all year. You think we have any chance of Tony white sticking around at DC? And if not, whom we gonna find to replace? Whom might go with him? Does Butler maybe become DC, saw he held that role one year at Penn State?

No.
Butler is the likely replacement, I believe.

Skill players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, yes.

O-Lines, no.

This shit is too much. Everyone is riding high right now instead of asking how our offense got shut out in the second half by a terrible defense.

I'm worried we are gathering all this hype only to drop a game to an Illinois, or a Purdue, or a Rutgers, or an Indiana. Relax people its only week 2 and Colorado isn't good.

Yea, don't disagree. Never a fan of a hype machine taking off until we've played someone decent, kinda feel like CU last year right now. Difference is, I think our D is pretty legit, showed that last year and first two games this year. And I have way more faith in the offense after watching these two games. Second half was rough, but between some really bad calls and just conservative play calling it didn't necessarily bother me. No point of putting more on tape than you needed when CU was clearly beaten.
