Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

Zac Taylor is going to the Super Bowl. Can't believe what he's done in Cincinnati.

Maybe when Frost flames out they can make offer for Zac?

Lol. I can’t see him leaving NFL when he is successful there to go deal with college and recruiting. Plus he makes around $6 a year right now and probably getting a raise after this year

You never know, 2-3 years from now things always change. Big problem I always see is not many successful pro coaches can make a successful transition to the college game. Maybe the recruiting part is a big reason why?

That time passed in 2017 when Zac was actually available for the promotion.

To be fair, the boosters and fans wanted Frost, so I don't blame Moos.
Yea, I wanted him too, but not so sure now. The time is now (this coming season) for him to change a lot of peoples minds on that.

Highly unlikely. A quality HC gets a program turned around in 2 years. 3 at the most.

Saban Alabama 1st year (7-6), 2nd year (12-2). Inherited (6-7)
Meyer Florida 1st year (9-3), 2nd year (13-1). Inherited (7-5)

Frost can't even get top 20 - 25 ranked recruiting classes to 6 win bowl eligibility in 4 years. A guy can either put the pieces together and get them lined up right or he can't.
We're not even talking about NY6 bowls here. We're talking 6 wins and a shit bowl as the standard of success for Frost in year 5. That's pathetic.

It's no longer about blaming the previous head coach. It's no longer about blaming the roster. It's no longer about blaming assistant coaches.
Firing 4 guys on the offensive side of the ball was a "Last Great Act of Defiance". It was Frost who evaluated and hired those guys. It was Frost who was in charge of them in day-to-day operations. It was Frost who was responsible for evaluating game and practice film in identifying the rights and wrongs, good and bad, and making necessary adjustments.

One needs to look no further than what Bob Devaney did with Bill Jennings players to get my point.

Nuff said.

Losing 8 games (or however many) by one score or less is not an 'Oops', it's not an 'Awe shucks', it's not a 'We're close'. It's film, practice, game week opponent evaluation, and game-time decision making by the head honcho.
What we've got is failure across the board.

You are likely right. Every one was drinking his kool aid after the 2018 season ending up 4-2 last 6 games. Finishing 2-6 in 2019 should have been a sign he was in over is head, but every one said one more year than 2020 happened with B1G f-ing up the season. The reason I think this year he can prove himself is 2022 is pretty reasonable schedule, 6-6 or 7-5 should be attainable. I think the buy out on contract decreases after 2023? so maybe NU will wait it out till for 2 years.

It's only $7 million now regardless of year. That's chump change.

Not sure where peeps are thinking the schedule is reasonable. Still gotta play all the West teams where Frost went (1-5) in 2021.

Heck, first year Bert Bielema beat him like a rented mule in the season opener with (5-7) Illinois. Nebraska trailed 30-9 at one point in the 3rd Q.
Illinois went (1-5) after that with the win being over Charlotte.

Well, if they will ever be anything again, they need to be able to beat the Purdue, IU, Minny & NW teams at the least. 2023 may actually a bit more manageable than 2022, but you never know anymore.

I just think he is who he is. A guy in over his head without managerial skills.

You could give Frost a roster 2 deep in 4 stars and you'd still get Charlie Strong's tejas.
