Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

How in thee fuck are the (18-11-1) Huskers 0-3 against in-state competition?

0-2 vs Nebraska Omaha (L 6-10), (L 5-6)
*UNO is 12-14 overall

0-1 vs cretin (L 5-6)
*cretin is 14-12 overall

At 4-2 in the Big 10 standings Nebraska is tied for 2nd place based on .667 win %. They've won both of their series 2-1.

They're at #3 in the Big 10 standings 'overall' with a 3 game series vs (5-22) Northwestern this weekend.

With 23 games remaining I don't see them getting to the NCAA tourney without either winning out the regular season with 41 overall wins (i.e. Big 10 champs) or getting an auto bid by winning the Big 10 tourney.

Their (0-3-1) opener against San Diego is looking pretty bad right now.
The B1G sucks at baseball and we are a team that struggles to hit with RISP and has inconsistent (to put it nicely) pitching and not much of a bullpen? :noidea:

Same woes, different sport.

And we are now first in the B1G

Doesn't mean much. The Huskers RPI is 112th. That's WITH that Vandy win.

That's down from 96th last week before sweeping an awful Northwestern team.
The NCAA tourney passed on a 44 win Rutgers team last season. Rutgers finished 2nd overall in the Big 10 regular season, but got snubbed with an RPI of 62nd.

Maryland got in for winning the Big 10 regular season with 45 overall wins.
Michigan got in (auto-bid) for winning the Big 10 tournament. Rutgers had made it all the way to the championship game.

IF Nebraska runs the rest of the schedule (zero losses) they get to 41 wins prior to the Big 10 tourney, but there's little upside to opponent RPI.

RPI's of the remaining schedule...

Cretin: 114th
Iowa: 55th
S. Dakota St: 268th
Minnesota: 228th
N. Dakota St: 225th
Maryland: 63rd
Penn St: 143rd
Purdue: 230th

, which of you write this?

FYI....

The game against cretin that got suspended last night because of lightning will be finished prior to Nebraska's scheduled game against cretin in Omaha on May 9th.

Last night's game was suspended in the Top of the 7th, and tied 4-4.
Nebraska had the bases loaded with no outs.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever pointed this out, but it's spelled Creighton...
:D

Well that's refreshing if true. Just need to win some of those close games where the Huskers were stepping on their dicks.

Then again the Huskers could be where Temple and Baylor were in year one and this is just another hype campaign to sell tickets.

We shall see.

My expectations are pretty low. If it looks like the coaches have a general idea of what the game of football is, it will be an improvement.

I am sure glad my daughters didn’t get me a ticket for the Spring game as they wanted me to go with their families. It’s too cold for my liking.

Minnesota’s Spring game is lame and indoors with 10 fans watching.

How'd Minny look? I saw the beginning of the Wiscy spring game as my DVR records extra on live events. man, not sure if all show, but were definitely trying to run the spread. the QB they brought in from SMU to be #1, threw 2 picks on his first two drives, just easy ones too, D wasn't doing anything special. I understand what Fickel probably wants to do, but honestly, probably would have stuck with what they had but found a more versatile QB, like when they had Russell Wilson. Throw in some option and a qb with speed and they probably could have made that next step.
