Rhule needs to bench him. 3rd string.
IDGAF about athleticism.
Put someone in there that has the mental capacity to manage a game.

I hate games like this. D is playing good and our O just giving it away. Can't even do the simple things right. I'm glad I have to head out to my son's baseball game, as I can't watch it anymore.

I just wasn't expecting it to look that bad. Really wish Casey would have stuck around and had a real competition. Just can't have that many unforced turnovers, it's one thing for the other team to force a turnover but completely different to simply drop it and not jump on it.

I've invested two full games of viewing. Glad it only took the first two games of the season to know that their is no need to invest 3 to 3.5 hours watching them.

I watched the whole game last week and I decided not to watch today.....but get this I switched over and watched 4 of our offensive plays...during the game....

#1 snap hits the motion man for a fumble....he recovers.
#2 Field goal hit the upright no good
#3 motion man just missed getting hit with the snap and Sims fumbles it ...CU recovers
#4 online gets collapsed at mid field and rb fumbles....CU recovers

Unbelievable......

Yea, this is way out of control. The more this goes on I just think that the Huskers had their 20-30 year run, ending after Osborne retired. Game has changed and Nebraska will have hard time going forward. I was not a big fan of them getting Rhule, but liked what he was doing prior to season start, not sold on his coaching in first two games though.

So I'm thinking this program will continue to be a non factor in the college football landscape. I've said this a few times in past few years. I think Nebraska was lucky to get into Big 10 when they did, the product on the field is not as advertised.

If deion can win two big games in a row, Nebraska can get back. The problem lies in finding a QB that can actually complete passes and not turn the ball over. Sanders brought his own kid and runs a simple system, quick decisions and throws accurately. sF at UCF with Milton, same thing. Sims clearly can't get in a rhythm, maybe he does in practice when you can rep it 20 times, but if you can't come in after a 5-10 minute wait and hit guys that are open, you can't build that rhythm. He's late on throws or can't hit a wide open guy in stride which limits your big play potential and also leads to the interceptions he's thrown.

They'd should be doing hurry up after good/big plays, just hurry to the line and run another read option or iso or something. I'd run more fly sweep or that fly action with Sims option to pull and run straight ahead, I think that was the motion that got him the one TD run. Sure seemed to me maybe in the first half the coaches were trying to limit Sims runs, maybe because they felt like they over used him last week, but when you are a running QB, you need to just do it.

Probably won't find answers against crappy teams the next two weeks but hopefully at least can show the potential. Going to need to dip into the transfer portal and try and find the right guy, unless you think Haarberg is it, then live with the growing pains now to have a better year next year.

Came here to do two things. Drink beer and win 6 games. Looks like I’m about out of winnable games.

Sims is a f'n turnover machine.

It just doesn’t seem possible that someone that is so damned bad at playing a sport & still wants to keep on playing said sport. Now the part where our coaching staff went actively recruiting this guy ~ I am not completely speechless because it’s what Nebraska coaches do ~
Taylor Martinez a safety and our starting quarterback.

Adrian Martinez a receiver with one years experience at QB made our starting quarterback.

Luke McCaffery receiver made into our quarterback.

Besides the former Texas cast off Casey Thompson, the last actual quarterback we recruited and played substantially was Tommy Armstrong ~ I won’t even recognize the Mike Riley years as that wound needs to heal further but he went after and brought in actual quarterbacks.

We just lost Logan Smothers - a QB,
Casey Thompson - a QB,
Richard Torres - a QB. But we gained Mr. Turnover 2023 in the process.

With NIL, Nebraska could have bought a damned good quarterback this season but somehow they just keep missing the boat on the most important position on the field and we wonder why our offense is so bad.

Didn’t Rhule get canned from the Carolina Panthers because he didn’t have a Quarterback? :noidea:
