Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

Guys, was Mike Rosier’s number retired? This picture from today says no.

I believe that NU doesn't really retire numbers.

If Nebraska ACTUALLY retired numbers, or any program did for that matter, you'd run out of numbers to use. Think of all the numbers that could have been retired just in the past 30 years. #1, #30, #7, #15, #93 etc...all of which are still on the 2022 roster.

Retiring numbers is retarded. They get hof status, they get their names bronzed out all over the place I think allowing use of their number adds to that flattery

I believe that there are circumstances that warrant the retiring of a number.
Jackie Robinson is one. Pat Tillman, if it isn't already, is another. And probably Jordan's 23.
I'm sure there are others.

Meh I would think at that level most want to blaze their own trail but I still think retiring the numbers is a dumb practice

Nebraska has three "numbers" retired.

#20 Johnny Rodgers
#60 Tom Novak
#64 Bob Brown

They took #20 out of retirement temporarily when Rodgers son was on the team so he could wear it. However, it was put back into retirement when he was done.

They only retire "jerseys" now and the list is long.

Any of interesting developments guys? Not really paying attention this fall. Can't believe like 3 weeks away from the first game.

I read a newspaper article that the defensive backs absolutely owned the receivers in practice and Coach Joseph couldn’t find one leader in the group to step up and address it. Also QB Torres has the strongest arm of the QB group but needs to put on weight. Purdy has the 2nd strongest arm among QBs. @JedBurks and his podcast co-partner cuss way too much and might find a bigger audience if they tone it down a bit - just IMHO. I had to shut it off the podcast because we have the young grands here daily and we don’t use that language around them. And finally, as previously reported, best practices ever.

yea, i think i heard that on the radio the other day on the way home. the USC program is inconsistent on when they talk huskers and that's about the only time i'm even trying to hear or read something.

as far as jed, yea, i noticed that like the one time i listened.

Me trying not to drink the Kool-Aid after listening to Bill Busch speak today after practice;

More koolaide or Mountain Dew, not sure who this meth head is!

Ha, I was just thinking when listening and looking at dude he is jacked up on something. I like his juju on Huskers but think he has something in his Kool Aid :beer2: If they finish 9-3 Frost will get an extension. My money is on 6-6 +/- 1. I'll add potential melt down watch on GA Southern game, looking ahead to Sooners can be dangerous.
