Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

Well guys the experiment is over. Luke McCaffrey has switched to WR at Rice. I wonder what Frost was originally thinking? I mean the kid couldn’t play QB at Nebraska, Louisville, nor Rice. Luke’s pride screwed himself out of the B1G right into Conference USA. Beyond that, the kid snookered our staff and Rice’s staff but evidently not Louisville into the experiment. Best of luck to the kid on playing his actual position.

2 hours left guys!!

Either he's just finding a new way to say the same old thing, or he's allowed 'camp letdowns' in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

I hope he's learned a lot in the last 8 months or so.
Inexperienced head coach surrounded by inexperienced assistants. A surefire recipe for the shit we have seen over the post 4 seasons.
I bet Whip and Mickey have been in his ear quite a bit.
I guess we're about to find out.

We shall see.

By the numbers, Nebraska carries 150 players on the team. 120 Husker players are going to Ireland. 76 Husker players will suit up for the game.

Game week is here at last. Go Big Red!!

Nothing in our program's recent history gives me confidence in this season opener.
I'm almost pissed off, as I am dreading the game almost a much as I am looking forward to it.

Even if Nebraska does win it, it's pretty well meaningless regarding expectations for the remainder of the season.

They beat NW 56-7 last season, yet finished 3-9.

I wouldn't go so far as saying it would be meaningless.
Winning the first game of the season, against a P5, would be a deviation from the norm. It wouldn't move my needle a whole lot, but it would move.

I wouldn't even see a home win against Oklahoma (who has an entirely new staff) as being that big a deal.

Winning the Big 10 West division would be a big deal.

I agree, big picture.
But winning Saturday will make winning the west a lot easier than losing it will.
While winning the west would be big, I'm not even comfortable thinking that far ahead. I'm more in the "win this week" mode.
I miss the days of worrying about the Oklahoma game, in September. Most games were assumed victories.
We're now relegated to nail biting every damn week.

i agree with Tom. I think a 56-7 win this year would go a long way to the mental psychy of the team. just knowing how to put it together against an inferior team. That was the problem so many times last year, stupid mistakes/penalties/turnovers/not finishing drives that led to losses against several teams.

If they beat NW 56-7 than we'd better be careful of heads-in-the-clouds, piss poor play, against North Dakota or Georgia Southern.

Just saying.
