Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

oh shit! i just saw it. hadn't checked twitter since i posted above.

wow, seems like an odd call with 3 weeks left? i mean now you are relying on analysts and quality control folks for teaching and game planning?

Ron Brown - been out of the game for awhile, other than helping current staff.
Steve DeMeo - no experience outside NU.
Verducci - the one guy that has experience but been an analyst with them for awhile so not sure what new he can add.
Cooper - similar story as DeMeo, but i guess at least had playing career and some experience at Portland state.

It's part of the sell to the fans, boosters/donors, and media that wanted Frost gone.

IMO what they're really saying is Frost made 4 bad decisions. LOL

I mean what are the odds a CEO goes 0-4 on staff?

On HIS side of the ball, no less.

speculation on hires? gotta get them in place quick right, to help recruit and fill this out for next year?

A thorough replacing of assistants is typically the writing on the wall anyway. It's the last great act of defiance.

That's because the HC himself is not detail orientated.
If you put new people under him you just get the same result. You're only delaying the inevitable.
It's that way in all positions of leadership, whether it be leading Hewlett Packard or a football team.

I said that just last night.

The firings are easy to understand why...

bye week. so the coaches will out be recruiting. can show stability to future recruits that they are making changes that will keep Frost.

Here I said there would be no changes. Now you guys know why I don’t bet as I’d be wrong every time and usually am when picking games.

Though Alberts didn't publicly mention changes were part of deal, you would have to expect that was discussed.

The contract restructuring for Frost

Salary is reduced from $5 million to $4 million for the year 2022

Next year's buyout went from $15 million to $7.5 million

The $15 million would have been after Jan 1st 2023, no?

$25 million now
$20 million after Jan 1st 2022.

That is my understanding.

Just stupid. If Beckton does a decent job these last weeks, I'd just keep him on TE/WR. Hire an OC/QB, OL, RB, and ST coach. If need be, the TEs can split time between OL coach and WR coach.
