The Palo Alto Screwjob

even though Penn State beat them...
yep, even though Penn State beat them. They probably thought it was a bit of a fluky win.

Yes if ignore games that were actually played. I guess we should just stop playing the games.
sure, why not? maybe it will stop people like you from constantly bitching and moaning??
Christian Bale Yes GIF

PSU also had a conference title that OSU didn’t have. The committee just told us that Conference titles are meaningless in their eyes.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

But their fluke win over OHST is what allowed them to even go to the CCG.

So, OHST still had the better resume and body of work.

If we are just going to ignore games that were actually played and won, why even bother playing the games. Just load up players stats into video games and just let that decide the winners?

I'm ok with 8 given we are right there within striking distance. However, I am not ok with being ranked behind Ohio State, that is pure bs.
I seems bad to you now but there is plenty of football left to be played and ratings are fluid week to week. I wouldn’t be too concerned until the first 2 loss SEC team jumps over you.

Winning convincingly matters. The more convincingly you win, the better.

The reverse is also true. A razor-thin loss on the road at night hurts far less than getting blown out.

Generally speaking, anyway.

Or should we just ignore all of the details and the circumstances? And treat every single win and every single loss exactly the same?

Again, according to the committee, head to head doesn’t matter, conference title doesn’t matter. The name of your team is the biggest tie breaker needed.

The committee picks who they want then molds their argument to justify it after the fact. There is no set "criteria". Thats clear.

The “set criteria” is what is your name and how can we argue to put you in the top 4

I really want to see a Wake Forest type team go undefeated and get left out for a 1 loss SEC title game loser. Watching them come up with mental gymnastics trying to explain how its "not a beauty contest" would be pretty hilarious.

saw a theory the Pac 12 refs dont want teams in the playoff so they can get the ref jobs.

That only works if every single Conference crew gets to work those 3 games.
