The Regular Season 10-Win Clubhouse

NMSU winning 10 games is wild. This is their sixth .500+ season in my lifetime (and their first one with over 7 wins) and only the third time they'll go bowling.

Before this year's Iowa team the most wins a team had ever recorded while averaging less than 250 ypg of total offense was .... wait for it...

4

4 wins

Iowa won 10

Now you can look at that however you want but the reality is if you average 245 ypg of offense and win 10 games its because you're fucking great at literally everything else

That's just the reality

They should run the triple option

They're like 2004 Penn State except they manage to somehow find ways to win

In 2004 Iowa beat Penn St 6-4

Lol

Yup

PSU were held to < 10 points five times that year. Only four games with 20+, against the likes of Akron/Winless UCF/Indiana/John L. Smith MSU. Their defense only gave up 20+ in two games (20 against Purdue and 21 against OSU)

That’s the most Iowa thing I’ve ever heard. Close second was when they beat South Dakota State 7-3 and getting the 7 points on 2 safeties and a FG
They'd only been 1 6-4 gane ever

Iowa as involved

There's only been 1 5-3 game ever

Iowa was involved

There's been 2 3-2 games on history

Iowa played in one of them

Lol

I remember the other 3-2 game. Auburn vs Miss State in the mid 00’s

We will probably get to see how Iowa stacks up to Mizzou on the Citrus Bowl
Mizzou will be playing in a NY6 Bowl and Iowa will be playing Ole Miss

Bowl Eligible = 4
Overall Opponents record: 82-61

Bowl Eligible = 2
B1G Opponents (9 teams) record: 53-55

Overall Opponents record: 70-72
Bowl Eligible = 6

NOTES

Iowa played 9 FBS opponents with 5+ wins to Missouri's 8 FBS opponents with 5+ record
Missouri is 1-2 vs current ranked opponents to Iowa's 0-1

I wouldn't say Missouri's SOS is far better. I also wouldn't argue Missouri's Top 10 ranking nor would I argue Iowa not being in the Top 15, except for in CFP committee as they had Iowa #16.

Iowa lost to Minnesota, yes. Missouri beat MTSU by 4 points and Florida by 3.
MTSU was the 2nd game of the year and Mizzou was being vanilla...didn't open up their offense until Game 3 vs KSU. Mizzou SEC play had one close win....against Florida, let down game. Mizzou was without their starting LB's that game.

Mizzou won by 17 at Vandy and at Kentucky. Beat South Carolina by 22, Tennessee by 29 and at Arkansas by 34. They should have beat LSU and took Georgia down to the wire on the road.

Penn St is good, but not 31-0 good.

Iowa's offense is terrible and beat WMU by 31, MSU by 10 (as starting QB1 had season ending injuryvin first half), bowl-eligible Rutgers by 22. And that is with the country's worst offense.

Iowa does have a defense. Penn State is the only team to score 21+ points on Iowa. Michigan State came close with 16 points. Missouri let 7 score 21+ points. Vanderbilt (who scored same amount of points as Wisconsin) scored 21 points.

Mizzou would crush Iowa

Play crappy teams at the bottom of a top heavy conference? I mean they got destroyed by Penn St 31-0 and lost to Minnesota.
That idiot Pettiti needs to realign that whole damned conference
