I was not following this right. This is actually smarter than a penalty and yardage to boot. It’s just down there.

That's already been the rule though. I'm guessing they'll come up with some kind of penalty as a future deterrent.

There will be some instances where the QB will swear intent wasn’t to fake. And at times that will be true. But, it will just be the cost of addressing this.

I think you're probably right. I just hate adding more intent rules given the current state of officiating

It won’t get better….I agree with you on adding more rules like this. But, the alternative is a good bit of chaos. Defenders could get more aggressive on slides. And that would be more dangerous to safety.

And no league at any level wants that.
