There’s no more divisions in the SEC

I totally forgot that South Carolina played for the SEC title once.
Which is just one example of the retardedness of divisions. S. Car. finished with a 5-3 SEC record. They got beat by a 8-0 Auburn, 6-2 LSU and 6-2 Arkansas. Alabama also finished 6-2. South Carolina was a 5th place team in the SEC standings. But, Oh My, "division winner". Fuck divisions.

Neither are the B1G, B12 or ACC continuing with divisions in 2024. They all realize divisions are stupid at this point.

Alabama was 5-3 with a h2h loss agains SCar that year

You want to know about a group of teams being pissed that a conference is doing away with divisions. Look no further than the B1G West.

Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern go from a legit shot to play in the B1G championship game every year to being afterthoughts in the B1G with no more B1G West division.

I don't know if we will see any former B1G West team in the conference championship in a long, long time.

And also, with the new format, you’re gonna have years where UGA’s conference schedule is something like Florida, Auburn, Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas, Miss State, Missouri and SCar while Bama’s is LSU, Auburn, TN, Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, Ole Miss and Florida.

Divisions weren’t perfect, but the conference schedules were far more balanced than what they’re about to be. Look at the difference in the 2024 SEC schedule for OU vs Texas. Sure, Tennessee had to play Alabama every year, and Auburn had to play Georgia, but it was more balanced than what we’re about to see

Thanks for the free money.

Yea the B1G and SEC are going to have some hilariously unbalanced schedules going forward.

Bitch, please.
We beat y’all’s ass fairly recently… and we were mediocre then.
We beat your champion this year.
And OU beat us this year.
Foh with your “SEC is elite” crap.
We disproved that over a decade ago when we sent TAMU over and they ran through you like an SEC cousin on an SEC cousin. Y’all’s Elite Defense made Johnny Clipboard a freshman Heisman winner.

Laughable.
Reality is going to kick you so hard in the balls you will need to change your name to LaTexan

Hey, fuck you for being right!

It sucks for those programs to hear that, but it is a reality. They went from competing against just the West, to now have to compete against UM, OSU, PSU, Oregon, Washington, USC.

Not only on the field but also in the minds of the selection committee and TV execs.

That's why I said before -- it sucks to hear, but it is the reality of it. For as long as we've had the East and West -- it didn't matter what was going on with UM, OSU, PSU, MSU. They only had to finish ahead of the West teams for a shot.

You’ll be begging to go back to the Big 12 within 5 years

I think these mega conferences should go to the pod system, keep at least some form of a division, even if its only 4 or 5 teams.

Well, I will say, we're back to the days where the team that just happens to get the easiest schedule in the B10 (missing out on whatever great teams there are that year) has good shot at backing into teh title game (ala the B10 west). There's so many teams in the conference now, there's a good shot that a team could miss out on playing the 2-3 best teams in the conference any given year.
Example: Ohio State next year plays Michigan at home, and Oregon/Penn State away. They miss Washington, UCLA and USC. Depending on how any given year plays out, teams are going to scoot into that game like they used to "share" titles prior to the divisions.
