GAME Thursday night NCAAF

McCord was only sacked 16 times last year and McCord was already gone when Chip Kelly was hired.

Again -- i'm not saying McCord is a superstar. He is a solid college QB. Will Howard is not a superstar, he is a solid college QB.

Ohio's problem has never been at QB. It is an offensive line that struggles against teams with talent and a defense that has zero game changers who struggles against teams who can punch them in the mouth. It is why their record against top 5 teams is so terrible under Day.

Best thing for the Ohio is getting to face PSU as a top 5 team. Franklin is so overrated as a coach and his team this year is not a top 5 team, so Ohio should get a win and it could change the attitude of the team going forward for them.

Part of the reason why I believe they upgraded is because of the OL issues. McCord has no mobility, and his pocket presence is also pretty poor. Howard is a huge upgrade in that department. And he's shown to be even better at passing than McCord was last year. Just compare McCord's numbers last year to Howard's this year. Howard has been more efficient and isn't a net negative in the QB run game.

I've already done this for him and he keeps being ignorant. Anyone with a functioning brain knows Howard was an upgrade across the board. The idea that McCord has a better arm is hilarious as someone who has watched both of them now the past couple years.

Wait what happened to Oregon being, by far, the best team you have faced the last two years and would have beat Ohio by 21+ if McCord was quarterback? Nothing better than Buckeye fan tears -- they implode once their team inevitably loses and all common sense goes out the window. I get it though -- if I thought my team had a national title type team and then watched them give up 500 yards of offense to another team -- I'd be pissed too.
Your response makes no sense at all, as usual. I've demonstrated that Howard was an upgrade in every measurable way as a QB but your crush on Kyle blinds you, or you just don't have the stones to admit you were wrong.

Either way, carry on little bro.

My response makes perfect sense -- you just continue to try and side step your stupidity, when you said Oregon beats you by 21+ if McCord was your QB. The same McCord who led you to a 11-1 year and gave you guys a chance to finally beat Michigan, until your offensive line failed him.

I'm guessing there is one measurable Howard won't be an upgrade. McCord lost once as a starter. His loss was by less than a TD to the team who won the National Championship by 3 touchdowns. Tough for Howard to be an upgrade there when he has already lost a game.

When you say to carry on -- in the future, I expect you to call me THE Reigning National Champion Michigan Wolverines.

You keep talking about numbers -- but after 7 games -- McCord had 12 touchdowns and 1 interceptions and was 7-0. Had already went on the road and beat a top 10 team, so which number is Howard doing better?

Ohio State has played an absolute cream puff schedule sans the Oregon game. Even Oregon defensively doesn't impress me, their offense does though. You don't know who is real and who isn't until you get later in the season and you actually play some good defenses (though this year, I don't know if there is many). Nebraska just held Ohio to 275 yards of offense and only 11 first downs.

Dude, McCord was terrible against ND. Go back and watch it. He was bad. The only reason they won was because of the defense and Henderson breaking off like a 65 yard TD. This years Oregon team is a lot better than last year's ND team.

I didn't say McCord carried Ohio -- I said he beat a top 10 team on the road, as a first year starter. And the game winning drive was 75 passing yards and 1 rushing yard.

You mean the team carried McCord to 11 wins. He put up great numbers against nobodies and shriveled up in the biggest games. Howard has faced three teams that are top 25 in defensive efficiency this year, and he's balled out. There's the difference.

I get it, you dug your heels in on Howard not being an upgrade, and even though he has been better in every way, you don't have the stones to admit you were wrong. Being blatantly wrong and refusing to admit it is your thing.

Okay and the NIU QB did the same thing this year. Is he as good as McCord then?

At what point are you going to realize -- every offensive and defensive stat is skewed until you get to the end of the year, because teams fill their schedule with cupcakes to start the year.

You know who was supposedly the best defense in all of college football? Ohio. The same Ohio who gave up 500 yards of offense to Oregon. That's what happens when you face Akron, Western Michigan, etc.

McCord was a 1st year starter last year -- he put up great numbers for Ohio. He almost led you to a win against the team you haven't beat since 2019, who went on the win a national title. Your offensive line is what let you down, which seems to be a common theme at Ohio.

Now go look at what Howard did at KSU. That will tell you how different it is to be a QB at Ohio. You are throwing to wide open 1st round NFL receivers, have NFL running backs. Now when you inevitably say -- Howard didn't have any talent to throw the ball to -- I will say -- they have more talent than Syracuse.

McCord can make throws Howard cannot. Howard has the pocket mobility McCord doesn't. As Ohio showed in the Oregon game, Ohio is going to Ohio and money can't buy toughness.

So if ypg is all that matters, you think McCord played well Thursday?
Not at all -- I didn't even see any of the game. It is funny though that one game is what brought this entire conversation on again. I didn't bring any of this up. I haven't talked about it in forever.

McCord is absolutely carrying Syracuse to the record they have right now. Last year their entire offense was Tucker (i think that was the RB's name) -- he is gone. McCord has taken a group of nobodies on a team who was 5-7 last year and they have matched their win total from last year already.

Nobody thought the Bobcats would have the best defense in college football, where do you even get this?

McCord's numbers were powerfully mediocre last season with the weapons he had around him. McCord cannot make a single throw that Howard can't and you have absolutely no way to back up that assertion. Howard has shown up against the toughest defenses we've faced this year while McCord fell apart against defenses that even had a pulse. You know this but you keep lying because you're too big of a pussy to admit you were wrong.

Syracuse has faced the 91st rated SOS this season. McCord isn't carrying shit, he's just throwing the ball more than any other QB in the nation outside of Chandler Morris at UNT, who has way less talent and has way better stats than McCord. There's a reason why McCord has the 77th best QB Rating this country, behind tons of QBs that are playing with way less talent - he's not a good QB. Everyone knows this except for you.

Ahhh struck a nerve, so you make a joke. And O-H-I-O was either the #1 or #2 defense coming into the Oregon game. That is how useless defensive rankings are early in the year. Oregon made them look like a JV high school team.

And it is HILARIOUS to hear you talk about the 'best defenses' you faced this year. Which defenses are you talking about? Oregon? Who will get steamrolled like they always do as soon as they face any team who can play defense. Is it Michigan State, who just lost to a pathetic Michigan offense:facepalm: Oh wait -- the mighty Cornhuskers, who just gave up 56 to Indiana and 34 to Illinois?

Keep grasping at straws. It is highly entertaining. Can't wait for your next obscure stat you bring up.

Yeah, I admittedly brought it up to prove how incorrect you were this preseason. Not gonna lie.

And I mean everything you just said is factually incorrect. Tucker wasn't on the team last season, and they didn't finish 5-7. They've also significantly upgraded their weapons from last year considering their 3 top pass catchers didn't play on Syracuse last year. Well Gasden did but he only played 2 games because of injury. So, no they aren't the same team. Anyone with a brain would say they have much better weapons than last year.

You don't appear to know what that phrase means. I was simply correcting your error.

Since when is scoring 32 on a defense at home making them look like a "JV high school team"? Why do you make such idiotic statements like that?

Speaking of striking a nerve, it seems to greatly upset you that Oregon, Iowa, and Nebraska are all top 25 in defensive efficiency so far this year, and Howard played amazing against all three of them. Sorry that upsets you so much.
