I never said Jack wasn't the best...Tiger had the best prime and changed the game. Those are facts not one single person can dispute...I could care less if he isn't labeled GOAT lol

Just bc a player wasn't a "great guy" does not affect how great they were at their craft. MJ was and is a shitty human being.

Yeah that's pretty much the commentary I would expect from a Tiger fan boy.

That you think the competition Tiger faced was stiffer than what Jack Nicklaus faced in the prime of his career tells me that you don't know much about golf pre-Eldrick.

The thing is...he blew the doors off the competition. That's why I said his prime will never be duplicatd. Fair to say, that if it wasn't for injuries he would probably have an estimated 20-25 major wins.

to be comparative, you have Roger Federer coming up in the tennis world and dominating...but he then had Nadal and Djokovic and Murray come along and keep him humble.

There wasn't anyone like that in the PGA to keep up with Tiger.

Great generation for those two sports.

I am pretty sure I heard this morning that he also destroyed the ankle on that leg and that the fractures were compound and severe enough that The surgeons did procedures at the end of his lengthy surgery to relieve the pressure on his muscles which sounds eerily similar to what Alex Smith had to endure. Hopefully, this time there will not be any infection(s) and he can recover fully in 6-9 months.

I don’t know. Being that MJ was a huge NBA star I have no doubt on the womanizing. The fact that it’s been kept to nothing more than rumors to this day is amazing.

But, also amazing is if he had any more drugs in his life than cigars and alcohol, we’ve sure not heard of it.

After that it’s a little harder to compare because of team sport vs individual sport. Jordan was a tyrant on his team that did indeed go too far into the physical (“....now that’s a foul....”), but he has said it well....he didn’t expect others to do anything he wasn’t doing himself.

Tiger was always on the pace to pass the greats and be the greatest.....until it all fell down. The fact that he was a cantankerous prick in his ascendency doesn’t change anything....except that once he fell the piling on him was so much more because of the prick he was going up.

The classic “be careful how you treat people on the way up...”.

It kind of goes both ways. The older fans are more willing to throw the younger guys out with the trash....the younger fans can tend to be apologists in these cases and not show a proper historical mindset.

In a little over a decade, Tiger had 14 majors. Just think about that. That isn't be biased, that is something everyone should appreciate.

In 25 years Jack had 18 majors. In 19 years he had 16 majors.

If it wasn't for the injuries piling up...I have no doubt he would have blown the doors off Jack but that's the reason Tiger easily had the best prime bc he won so much and BY so much in a very short span. Maybe if he changed his mechanics earlier he wouldn't have won as much but his prime will not be matched....EVER.
