Tipping is getting ridiculous

Funny story.
the 1st time I had ever seen where gratuity was added by the establishment.
I was with my GF at the time. & we met her family at an outback. Total we probably had 10-12 people there. the table was split between 3 or 4 tabs though.
However they had a rule if there were x amount of people at the table they automatically added gratuity into the bill. This was never explained when we ordered either.
End of the meal I get our bill & look & see it says gratuity added. Now at this point I had never seen this before. So I look at her dad & ask. Does this mean they already added in their tip? Meaning now I dont have to tip? He reads his bill & says looks that way. Now until now I always assumed gratuity was optional. I grew up with many in the industry, so I was a good tipper. So I figured ok well their loss.
But my GF didnt let it go. She asked the waitress when she came & collected our CC's. Why they added their own tip to the bill. She explained when a party is a certain size they automatically do this. My GF then looked at her & said well you fucked up because he is a good tipper & so is my Dad. LOL the lady looked at me & said well you can add more to the tip if you like. (I dont even know what they added in the 1st place) I said. no. You took it upon yourself to tip yourselves what you felt you deserved. I am good with that...... But you did fuck up.

Think that might've been the 1st time I seen the expectation of tips instead of the appreciation of tips.

It's a circular dynamic. Servers think you aren't going to tip them well and give you lousy service. You're offended and pissed at the lousy service and ignoring of your table, so you either don't tip or leave a fucked up tip or a nasty note on the bill.
Wrong. Wisconsin cunts come to town and are notoriously shit tippers by service people. Fuck you

Thanks for ruining the thread with your racial and cultural war. Never understood the fascination with ruining threads with words and opinions.

If it’s a higher end restaurant I’ll tip at most $4. All they did was cook it and throw it in a bag. All the hostess has to do is be able to read my name on the bag.
But, IF the hostess is HOT...

I got a tip for ya....

RIGHT HEAAAA'!!!!!

I don't understand you people who order food/other stuff for delivery other than pizza. For me I need to see and select the freshest best looking produce and food that's available, and not something a low page worker would grab and fill a delivery cart with without inspecting it for quality.
