tOfficial 2022 playoff push thread

Starting pitching has actually been kind of wishy washy this year.

Bieber has been good.

McKenzie & Quantrill are good but they are inconsistent at times, especially McKenzie

and the #4 and #5 has been a circle jerk mess. Civale has a ERA in the 5s. I guess he's been "better" since getting off the IL though (it was in the 7s). Plesac has been hurt for like a month but was mediocre (4.39 ERA)

There's been a lot of bullpen games and AAA guys filling those slots.

The position players have been surprisingly good. Jose Ramirez has had another superstar year but he may not even be their MVP (Andres Gimenez has been amazing), plus Kwan looks like Brett Butler 2.0 and Andres Gimenez is a solid shortstop. Even with Straw's lousy offensive numbers he's still managed to be a ~2 WAR player on his baserunning and defense. Naylor's shown as improvement as well, though he needs to cut down on the ground balls. Oscar Gonzalez also had a solid rookie year.

Mets and Braves both lose
Phillies and Brewers both win

Nothing changed yesterday

Old guys feeling old?
The oldest guy is hitting better than Arenado and Goldschmidt lately.

Young guys also doing jackshit.

Almost got no hit by a nobody last night. Lots of K's.

Fucked up my parlay too. I’m about to start popping knots on some Cardinal heads

The Lindor trade ended up turning out way better than I thought it would

Rosario has been doing pretty well too.

It's worked out well for both teams this year.

It would now take a epic collapse by us and a epic streak in the last 12 games by the White Sox to choke this away.

The Sports Illustrated cover jinx is still undefeated as Julio goes to the DL
