The idiots will be harsh with McCord, I already know it.

We could beat Indiana 52-0, but McCord "only" goes something like 18/24 for 250 yards 2 TDs and 0 INTs and they would be calling for him to be benched because he didn't put up playstation numbers

Yes lol. Like I know our secondary struggled against Michigan and Georgia but they managed against about everyone else, even with how not good they were. WKU isn't really a big play passing offense though, they throw a ton but it's more of a nickel and dime dink and dunk game than a chuck it down the field every play game. Tackling in space will be a lot more important in that game than down field coverage. That game will probably be like a 63-21 type game, and of course the sky will be falling because we gave up 21 points.
Oh, I was thinking they were an air-raid type of team. I thought I remembered Doughty slinging it around a lot. Either way, yeah the DBs will need to be on their toes. Hopefully we limit them enough. Realistically we should win that game closer to 70-6, but I'd be OK with 63-21.

Yeah that's to be expected. Now, if he really struggles the first couple of games and makes a lot of mistakes, I'd be OK with Devin Brown getting some PT, but I don't think that should be the case.

That was when Jeff Brohm was their coach though. It's still Air-Raid ish but from what i've seen it's a lot more of get the ball out quicker to receivers in space than chucking it down the field a bunch. Lots of slants, rub routes and stuff like that

Oh yeah that's right, I forgot about Brohm being there. Either way, it should still be the best offense we play before ND, not that it's saying much.

Oh yea, Indiana will be starting a RS FR QB who will be in his first start and their OL is ass, Youngstown State was a not good FCS offense last year. If those teams are moving the ball on us, we got problems.

Indiana's schedule is brutal this year. Louisville OOC isn't bad but still will be a challenge, but they start the season vs. OSU, then they play at Penn State, Illinois, and michigan with Wisconsin also at home. They may be left yearning for the 4-8 season from 2022.

Indiana is going to go 2-10 or 3-9 this year with that schedule. They'll beat Indiana State and Akron, but outside of Rutgers I don't see another game they maybe get a W in on their schedule.

The team IMO is a bit of a downgrade from last year as it is. Maybe a bit of upgrade at QB but the WRs are nothing special and the OL will still suck ass. This with the defense probably getting worse as well

Hell, I'm not even sure Akron is a guaranteed W. Indiana State may be the only win they can get. It's gonna be real ugly in Bloomington, which is too bad because I like Tom Allen and was hoping he was building something.

Nah, Akron is horrible they went 2-10 last year, their 2 wins were a OT win against FCS St Francis PA and against 3-9 Northern Illinois. Michigan State was below mediocre and beat them 52-0. I'd be pretty shocked if they lost that game.

Oh shit that's right. For some reason I had them confused with Toledo, who was pretty solid last year. Fuck, Akron only has 5 wins the last 4 years, WTF is going on there?

I think they are just being Akron, they've never really been anything more than a bottom tier program. They had a couple years under Terry Bowden where they were decent and like 1 or 2 years in the 2000s. And by "decent" I mean 7 wins. But other than that they usually have been a <5 wins a season type team.

I don't know why I was thinking they had put together a few decent years recently, but yeah that's definitely not the case. Only 2 bowl seasons since 2005. It's weird, I feel like with them being an urban campus and being in a reasonably football-rich state, they should at least be competitive yearly in the MAC.

Well, as I've proven numerous times, the last two years were dramatically different games, but go on and think you're gonna bust 4 70+ yard TDs again.

I agree -- they were dramatically different games. 2 years ago, Ohio trusted their defensive front to stand up against UM's offensive line and they got punched in the mouth and pushed around all over the field. This past year, Ohio KNEW their defensive front wouldn't hold up against UM's offensive line, so they stacked the box and put everyone within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. They went as far as having their LB's shoot the gaps and their safeties to drop down fill in behind them. Guess what happens if you do that against a team with talent? Don Brown will tell you. YOU GIVE UP BIG PLAYS. And what happened against Michigan? YOU GAVE UP BIG PLAYS.

So it will be a pick your poison type of thing this year. OSU can leave their secondary on an island to try and stop their defensive front from getting pushed around or they let their defensive front get pushed around and UM will run the ball down their throat. That is what happens when a team can't play physical football, which OSU has shown they cannot.

So continue to make excuses, but your own players dictated why OSU had the game plan they had last year. Your own defensive coordinator didn't trust your front 7 would be able to handle the physical play, so they sold out to help them.

LOL ok dude

Yeah. Always gonna be dummies that think they know best. Hell, with the accolades Harrison is getting this off-season people will probably be screaming at him if he doesn't have 10 catches for 150+ and 2 Tds every game

Just wait until he dares to drop a pass. The OSU haters will be out in droves saying how overrated he is or some nonsense. Plenty of dumbasses out there.

Think Clemson is going to get revenge this year? I hope not. I loved watching ND just crush them last year.

I see what you mean on the recruiting side, though. The Keeley decommit was especially brutal. You do have a nice looking class coming along though, and Carr looks like he's the real deal. It's been a while since ND has had a real stud at the position. Like osubuckeye89 said, I'm glad we don't play you until week 4 so we can get an idea of what our DBs look like before they have to face Hartman. He might not be elite but he can definitely do damage and probably get the most out of your WRs. Having a solid OL like you do is also going to make a huge difference. If Hartman has the time to make his throws, it should be a really, really good game.

Yeah, I think they'll beat us. I can't remember the last time we won a big road game. Probably 2012 at Oklahoma. It's been a while, and the trend probably continues. I think clemson will have a much better offense with Riley as OC.

Yeah, I'm really excited for the OSU game. I was too young to remember the last time OSU came to South Bend, so from an aesthetics standpoint, seeing something I haven't before will be cool, ala when UGA came to South Bend.
