I agree -- they were dramatically different games. 2 years ago, Ohio trusted their defensive front to stand up against UM's offensive line and they got punched in the mouth and pushed around all over the field. This past year, Ohio KNEW their defensive front wouldn't hold up against UM's offensive line, so they stacked the box and put everyone within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. They went as far as having their LB's shoot the gaps and their safeties to drop down fill in behind them. Guess what happens if you do that against a team with talent? Don Brown will tell you. YOU GIVE UP BIG PLAYS. And what happened against Michigan? YOU GAVE UP BIG PLAYS.
So it will be a pick your poison type of thing this year. OSU can leave their secondary on an island to try and stop their defensive front from getting pushed around or they let their defensive front get pushed around and UM will run the ball down their throat. That is what happens when a team can't play physical football, which OSU has shown they cannot.
So continue to make excuses, but your own players dictated why OSU had the game plan they had last year. Your own defensive coordinator didn't trust your front 7 would be able to handle the physical play, so they sold out to help them.
