We can only speculate, but he's from the west side of the state around Grand Rapids....and there's a lot of really sketchy places over there.
Again, speculation, but I can see someone having a CPL and keeping their firearm in their car, letting the CPL expire and having the gun still in your car. You get pulled over, announce you have a loaded gun, your CPL is expired and...boom...felony. That would also explain why it was a low priority for all parties to address.

OL Coach Justin Frye would probably be the in house pick, He served in a similar role at UCLA and wouldn't demand the play calling duties. Perfect for Day. Shitty for everyone else.
