he might be ahead just because at Baylor..that entire team was gutted by the time he arrived. Briles had been outed and they left his staff under a new coach who did not do anything recruiting wise because he knew he was just there for that season.. they start like 6-0 or something then plummet.History says it won't be Matt Rhule.
His first seasons at Temple (2-10) and Baylor (1-11) were steps back from their previous regimes. It was year two when they started taking hold.
FWIW he claims he's ahead of those other gigs, but that could just be ticket selling hype.

Nebraska Football: Matt Rhule says he’s in ‘Year 2’ compared to his other rebuilds
Matt Rhule feels Nebraska football is already further along than the other programs he's taken over and had to build up over a period of time.huskercorner.com

So when rhule arrived they didn't have any real recruits to try and keep in the class..he literally started on the ground with nothing. Credit to him though, he identified kids with measurables.. didn't care how they looked on tape and with that he was able to do a turnaround
Yeah NU has talent.. maybe not what they envision as of yet but it's more than what he inherited his previous two spots. Challenge for him will be the quality of opponentsPre-Rhule, Temple & Baylor were both in far worse shape than Nebby.
Colorado’s probably in the same boat as the former 2, especially with the exodus.
At worst, I think they get the same # of wins. Kinda hard not to give this one to Nebby.

oh i agree..which is why i believe Rhule means what he said5 of corn's 8 losses were by 7 points or less. They were a few breaks here and there from being a winning team. Maybe the coaching change gets them that this year? I wouldn't be shocked if they end up with 6 wins . Definitely don't think they'll wind up 1-11/2-10. Everyone in their division is beatable, and they should get out of OOC 3-0
14 Nebraska is too old school but #2 Penn St is classic. Lol![]()

And just what is wrong with Suzy Rottoncrotch?I'm gonna expect a step back because that's what Rhule's history shows.
On top of that, Nebraska's (3-9)/(4-8) problems haven't been solely coaching or talent related.
They've had consistent Top 25 and even some Top 20 recruiting classes. If going by Final AP rankings, Top 25 teams have 9 or even 10 wins. Even a bad coach with that kind of talent should get you 6 or 7 wins.
Lincoln's problems are just as much 'culture' related. Players putting in the bare minimums regarding personal learning and development.
Rhule is new to Lincoln and has to learn what's been distracting the players from the task at hand (i.e. Bars, Xbox, Little Caesars Hot & Ready, and Suzy Rottoncrotch).
Pelini wasn't a great coach and often had recruiting classes finish outside of the Top 30. However, he was disciplinarian and had staff watching the downtown bars for players. Players old enough to drink would be Jr's and Sr's. i.e. What you'd expect to be the leadership of the team in the locker room, at practice, the film room, training table etc. That was enough to get him 9 and occasional 10 wins.
Freshman and Sophomores should be learning culture and leadership from the older guys. If the older guys don't have it the younger guys don't learn it and the problem is cyclical.
I imagine tejas' problems (who've consistently out-recruited 95% of the rest of CFB) are quite similar.
I wouldn't be surprised if Colorado took a step back under Deion this year.
lol will michigan and tosu pull out it's series vs us now??
