tOfficial B1G Thread

I forget you are on a 2-game winning streak. Get chesty.
3 of the last 4

after that dismal streak of losing forever in a row, feels nice

PJ needs to beat Iowa, that is getting maddening.

Maybe Walker's running opened things up for him in 2021? Their running game was pretty rough in 2022.

Even Reed fell off last year. Was he hurt?
Walker leaving could've definitely made an impact. All I know was Thorne was crap mostly last year, and he could do nothing against us in 2021 when we shut down Walker, so that would make sense.

Yeah that dude really tumbled last year. I thought they had another solid performer after 2021.
He was bad in 2020 and 2022. Had there been an actual “solid performer” in 2021 with Walker, Walker probably would have won the Heisman. Michigan was staking the box and Walker was still busting out 40 yard runs.

Lmao. Imagine paying 350 million a year and you end up with Charlotte vs. MD and Cuse vs Purdue in primetime. Yiiiiiikes.

Yep. They are willing to put up with the shit in the fertilizer and the thorns just to get to a few roses.

They don't give trophies to 2nd place giants.
They should, they just about hand every game a trophy for no reason.. Doesn't all the current BiG 10 west schools have a trophy at stake vs the others?

Seems like it. I wonder what happens to the trophy games with the new schedule. At least the Battle for the Axe is safe.

No

Gophers have one vs Iowa and Wisconsin and an unofficial one vs Nebraska

They also have one vs PSU and Michigan, but they're in east. And Jug is cool and cool story, but ahh, it's not much of a rivalary and no one has ever cared about the governers bell, that was a forced trophy when PSU joined the B1G

Tom Osborne always said that playing the likes of Oklahoma every year made Nebraska better. It was a source of motivation. Things crashed and burned soon after the Big 12 split North/South and Nebraska only played Oklahoma every other two years.
Oklahoma still had the tejas rivalry as a source of motivation. Nebraska had Missouri, Iowa St, Colorado, Kansas, and Kansas St.

There are no 'likes of Oklahoma' in Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Northwestern.
Heck, Wisconsin has been more 'traditional Nebraska' than Nebraska themselves.
Going (1-10) against Wisconsin, (4-8) against Iowa, (5-7) against Minnesota, (5-5) against Purdue, (6-6) against Northwestern, and (6-4) against Illinois isn't a talent issue. It's a fundamental issue.

I've always said Nebraska players look like they put in the bare minimums regarding their personal development (i.e. weight room, training table, film room, playbook). There doesn't seem to be any Jr/Sr leadership for the youngins. The program lacks culture. Upper-classmen aren't setting good work ethic and that permeates year-to-year as the under-classmen become upper-classmen themselves.
There's no attention to detail. They don't know how to suck it up and win a close game. Hence the 22 one score losses during Frost's regime.
"Xbox, Little Caesar's Hot & Ready, and Suzy Rottencrotch seem to be their priorities. They're just suiting up for the free ride.
Nebraska's been losing it's best talent out-of-state for years now. Yeah they come on a recruiting visit, but they don't want to be a part of what they see. I don't blame them.

Bringing back former 70s, 80s, 90s, greats a couple times a year for team meeting chats on what it takes to win at a high level is forgotten soon after said former greats leave the room.

The Big12 was going to protect that game despite the divisions..but ou backed out, they didn't want to pursue it (they were down bad at the time while NU was still in it's golden years)
