The FIL makes pomegranate jelly every year. It's pretty good shit.

Idgaf about the jelly though. I love the juice. Super high in antioxidants, and supposed to be really good for you. I drink it with vodka. Haha

I have loved pomegranates since I was a little kid - I was fascinated by the myth of Persephone (if you don't know it, check it out - as with many greek myths, it's pretty fucked up, lol).
They weren't easy to find in Kentucky, so were a real treat.

I have a friend out here who has a pomegranate tree, which I find just so damned cool.
I like the juice, but what I really love are just eating the seeds.

I did it before 8am today! AND it's already been approved!

I love 'em, too. And I like seeing all the different youtubes that claim they have THE RIGHT WAY to open them.

However, they are $3.49 each right now, so that's gonna be a no from me, dawg. Feels like that's easily a buck more than they were last year.

I just saw 'em at my grocery for - I think the regular ones were less than a $1.50 a piece and the organic ones were about $2.15 (it's a smaller store with only a handful of locations, so maybe they're "in" with some growers, or something). I had thought it must be "per pound," since that seemed really cheap for organic, but no, it was each. I would have gotten a few, but I still have a couple from my friend's tree.
