I was actually ~$300 UNDER the F&B minimums for our staff dinner. So it was either give them 3 bills for nothing or order a couple bottles of wine to go.

So now I have 3 more bottles of wine to drink

What wines are you getting?

mine are 10 - doesn't believe
and 9 - pretty much doesn't believe but is still holding on to hope.

Yeah, zero shits given by them at that age. when they're really young, they don't notice. At your kids age, they don't care because they don't believe (but probably appreciate Mom and Dad making the effort anyway).

It's the "in between" ages when they still believe but would notice the wrapping paper that you have to be careful. lol

My mama loved doing that stuff so much, I knew Santa wasn't real for at least a couple of years before she found out I knew. My brother, who, of course, took great pleasure ruining it for me also ruined it for her. He's the one who told her he'd told me a couple of years before Santa wasn't real (years later, she told me how sweet she thought it was I didn't tell her I knew). I'd set out milk and cookies for "Santa," and I'd wake in the morning to find the milk gone, most of the cookies gone, crumbs strewn toward the fireplace ... I think maybe because she didn't celebrate Christmas growing up, she was getting some of her ya-yas about that out as an adult. That was fine by me, because it made Christmas pretty special. I still make my own bows, or at least some of them, the way she taught me. I also still put hints on the package label in terms of what the gift is.
