In the 90s, I would get invites to these time share seminars and whether you purchased or not, they would give you a 3 day vacation to Canada, Caribbean, Mexico or Las Vegas. I would drag the ex to these listen to the hard sell, then decline and get a free trip. Did this 3 times before they caught on.

Me and my friends did this several times as college students. They stop trying to sale you when you say..."Oh we can't afford these, we're college students!"
