You gotta use a rest stop sometime
Also, just pulled up the heat map, the part of SD I'm going to is pretty well untouched. The county is roughly the size of Rhode Island and has a population of 4,000.

You know that's Covid Country now, right? Highest hospitalization rates in the land?
If thing continue on their current trajectory, damn near ever state is going to be covid country before too long.
Most counties in the Bay Area have been doing pretty well, but some are starting to tick back up, and we just had our first kids at the DoJang have to quarantine because a classmate of their tested positive (so apparently the whole class has to quarantine and be tested).

We still have some of the lowest infection rates in the country, but everyone is freaking out about a possible resurgence here.

Many counties around here still have a low infection rate, but they're starting to go back up. I won't say people are freaking about a resurgence, but they're definitely keeping an eye on the numbers (and California has it set up so it's easy to find infection rate, etc ... by county). Then again, the Bay Area didn't go through what the NYC area did. If it had, I'm sure the keeping an eye on the numbers would tend more toward freaking out.

Exactly, people are understandably gunshy about it.

They just told restaurants and gyms that they have to close at 10. Not sure how that actually makes any difference, but boy did they show some decisive leadership

There's apparently a sitcom about two people who are "kidney buddies."

We're really fucking running out of show ideas, aren't we.

Yeah, I can't see how closing at 10 makes any difference.
There are plenty of things about the way things are done in California I don't like, but it does seem like they ultimately came up with a pretty good plan in terms of covid. It's done by county, and the criteria for what's allowed to open and to what extent is very clear. If numbers improve, more can open, which is what has been happening, and when numbers start to get worse, one can see, "if it gets to a certain number, these are the things that will have be more limited, or close." I think it makes it easier for businesses, too, since they are less likely to be taken by surprise, and, if possible, can come up with contingency plans.

Everyone knows it only comes out after dark.

That's what happened in the Thriller video when everyone became monsters

Don't give SF any ideas
Too true. Those dumbasses are probably 5 mins. away from an in-home mask mandate anyway. Now the inspectors can come in for some probin' action...
