So we're trying to figure out how to make this work, since everybody wants to come back to the office, but nobody wants to come back to the office. I thought it was just an admin thing that there was so much bitching about going hybrid (1-3 days/week) and having to give up your cubicle unless you chose to go FT into the office (at least 4 days/week), but apparently, that's one of the biggest complaints for a bunch of companies. People don't want to come into the office all the time, but they want to keep their office space  So much for saving $$ on leases! Whole thing is a cluster.
Sounding like there are some of you here are tired of the consistent corporate bullshit you have to deal with at work. Don't blame ya!

I'd suggest some of you (or all) consider getting out of this corporate rat race and leverage your talents (whatever they are) and find a way to do something on your own.

Right now, with all this corporate cluster-fk and covid paranoia going on, there isn't a better time to say fuckit and get the hell outta the cubicle misery. Or at least try to. :lm:

I've been a CORPorate Rebel since 1997. Haven't had a J.O.B. since then, courtesy of the Internet. It's been an awesome ride (with some big potholes thrown in every now and then, of course - heh heh). But I just wouldn't have it any other way now.

But meanwhile... I'll just enjoy my flexibility and time freedom that I covet so much. Good Luck!! :beer2:

:martini: :pop2:

ooh! We also don't get docked if we have jury duty and the court pays us for our time. i always thought that you get only their stipend or whatever... like $40/a day.

$40 a day jury duty? Hmm.

I could hang out in he jury pool with my computer, and if they call me for a trial, I can talk about bigfoot, UFOs and the space brothers.

Perfect. I'll never get picked and then hang out indefinitely in the jury pool room.

Perfect!

I don't think you get paid if you get dismissed for weirdo-ism

I have no (legal) marketable skills that I can parlay into a business, so I must toil my life away on the cube farm.

Stay in school, kids!

Yeah, I've got three degrees and I'm still working the cube farm

You do in this state. As long as you are in the jury pool, you get paid. If you are dismissed from the jury pool, as opposed to being dismissed from a particular trial, then you don't get paid.

No wonder your liberal state is going bankrupt
