Got to thinking about what you said a few days ago about a job interviewer thinking you were black because of your name.

So, I'm saying to myself, what kind of name would a part Mexican woman have that would make someone think she's black?

Then it came to me: Shanequa Gomez!

My great-grandmother was a Gomez. Which unsettled me when I found out because I’d already been involved with a dude with that last name when I found out. But he’s Sicilian and Spanish, so then I figured I was fine. Then I took the dna test and saw all the Spanish so now I’m probably a cousin fucker.

I blocked 2pm on my calendar but forgot to put the actual time (have to trick myself into being on time) and started freaking at 1:55 that it really was at 2! But then I found the reminder notice and it’s really 2:40.

So I only ended up being five minutes late. Which is fine because they’re now 15 minutes late. Fuckfaces.
