Open container laws are a crock of shit
I dont think anyone should be drinking and driving, but the sheriff is a total asshole up there. You almost never see him, unless there is a problem, but last big weekend he had a wide hair. We were talking to the folks at the general store, and they said he was writing people tickets for everything he could find. Down to registration fo ATVS, and anyone under the age of 16 on a quad, and no helmets even on side by sides. Dude is a cunt. Im taking my drone so I can fuck with him this weekend.

You'd be better off staying way the fuck away from him.

My dad was so happy when I finally got my permit, and he let me drive home from our shop every night so he could drink a pint in the passenger's seat. He knew all the cops/sheriffs in town, and they wouldn't ticket him for just being in the car while drinking

My wife was a passenger, and got one. We had just gotten there, and it was her first beer. Her sister had also only had one, and he gave her a field sobriety test.

Drinking and driving is obviously bad. I just don’t see the big deal about a passenger having a road beer, and here at least if you take a bottle of liquor to a party, but don’t finish it, and take the rest of the bottle home with you the next day, they can get you for an open container because the seal is broken. Even for me, just taking a shine jug anywhere is an open container because the jug was never sealed(it’s really the only thing they can get you for if it’s not big enough amount to for an intent to distribute charge)

But you get a lot of asshole sheriffs in small towns where traffic tickets are a significant part of the town’s income.

I was driving my dad around as soon as I could reach the pedals.

I didn't really get tall enough until I was 15 or 16. But when I was 13 or 14, I used to sneak my brothers' cars around the "block," which was a triangle about 3 miles long that surrounded our land. That ended when I wrecked one of them.

You go to some of those small towns in south GA, and if you have an out of county or especially an out of state tag, they’re gonna give you a ticket for something, and the fine is always too small to bother fighting. I got one ticket for going 44 in a 35, which I’m pretty sure was bullshit since the cop didn’t get behind me until we both turned on the same road coming from opposite directions at a 4 way stop and he flashed his lights immediately, was annoying, but the fine was like 115 bucks and nothing against my license, so easier to just pay it and move on.

My dad just liked to ride around the back roads and drink beer, looking for deer. I never got on the highway with him until I got my permit(my grandpa was a different story, he didn’t even drink, he just considered letting me drive to be a bonding experience, I’ve got his old 84 F-250 now that he finally decided he wanted a truck with air conditioning)

I took my daughter out for a drive last weekend, she's getting ready for her road test. It was much easier for me and you, we could drive all day on back roads and never see another car, and certainly no cops. Up here, she isn't legally allowed to drive in NYC with just a permit unless she's with a driving instructor. I'm asking "how the heck is she going to get any practice?" So we've been taking her to long island.

Aren't you the bean expert?
