So the dryer is showing a red light about the air flow. Check the lint filter. Not bad. So I pull it out from the wall in order to check the tubing. Nothing clogging that. Go outside and look up at the external vent. I can see a little stick at the entrance. Have to get the ladder to get up there. Damn bird made a huge nest inside. Pulling all this crap out. My arm can't reach far enough to get it all. Have to figure out what tool I can use to get the rest.
All kinds of tools to choose from, none of them will work. The wife brings me salad tongs from the kitchen. While it was tedious work, I managed to clear the vent with them.
Considering how much the dryer gets used, I can't imagine birds building a nest in that vent. They have built nests in the ceiling vents nearby before but they don't get used much at all.
