All kinds of tools to choose from, none of them will work. The wife brings me salad tongs from the kitchen. While it was tedious work, I managed to clear the vent with them.

Considering how much the dryer gets used, I can't imagine birds building a nest in that vent. They have built nests in the ceiling vents nearby before but they don't get used much at all.

Had that happen at our old house. Tacked up a little wire mesh over the hole and then the vent back on.
