you drove a screw in, with a hammer? Im going to need to you turn in your tools
I was tired and I had already screwed in most of them. The last one was being a butthole. I just tapped it a little. Pretty sure i ended up hanging it without it being screwed all they way in. Every time I hear a little creak, my heart skips a teense.

Can you drive from the bucket? I thought this was a 2-man thing. The person on the ground swizzling you around and the person in the bucket, trying not to fall out?
The ones at Home Depot use jacks to level themselves out, so you have to set it up where you want it. The person in the bucket is who controls the machine. There’s controls on the ground, but those are really just for an emergency situation where the controls in the bucket stop working so someone can get the person down.

The man lift we have here, you drive it(very slowly) to where you need it, and can move it around a bit while in the air. It uses a counterweight instead of jacks for stability

A roof beam? You mean a ceiling beam that's all covered by roof? You're insane. I can't dig a hole in the ceiling for this - i'm already gonna gouge the sheetrock all to hell
Speaking of, if you don't want the paint and wall to come off with the mount if/when you move and take it down put wax paper between the wall and mount then secure it and remove excess 😉

Euphemisms. Euphemisms everywhere.

That's a very useful tip! :yo:

You can also rub candle wax on the back of the frame.
it sucks being kinda dumb sometimes.

"how the fuck you gonna get it out of the jar? :headscratch: "

But then I remember I'm fuggin' smart: Duh- birthday candles!

Yer slicker than two eels fucking in a bucket of snot.

I put up the first one by myself. It's only a 48" I think, so not heavy, but I got 3/4 of the way through putting up the mount and it just got too fucking hard, so i partly hammered one of the screws in. Gonna look like someone took a sledgehammer to it when i remove the existing shit.

I've been monitoring my plants pretty closely- they seem to be doing fine. I'm getting excited because my dahlias are starting to make their way through the dirt! Of course, I read 87 different articles on either pinching or trimming them before the flowers come out, but none of it makes sense to me, so they'll probably get too long and snap :(

All mine did ok yesterday except for some cutting I took a few weeks ago I was trying to get to root, thought they were doing well, so moved them from their more sheltered location into a sunnier spot, then forgot they were there.

As for your dahlias (I still haven't had the heart to replant any since that damned gopher - maybe I will this fall) - when I first got mine, I did what you did and read all sorts of articles on them and got confused about all the "pinch out the blossoms before they " stuff. I mean, why plant flowers if you just ... pinch them out before the flowers actually bloom. If I want green foliage, I'll plant green foliage. I want flowers. What I realized is it has more to do with shaping the plant and encouraging more blooms. The idea is for every center bud you pinch, you get a new bud on each side, so pinch out one to get 2. As far them getting too long, it's certainly a possibility. I just kept an eye on mine and when it started looking a bit top heavy, I staked it. The first season or two was a lot of trial and error, but then I kinda figured out what to do to get it how I wanted them. It's a bit of a learning curve, but dahlias are so awesome, imo, they're worth it!
