i didn't get a good look at their faces, but these dudes were seriously big.

Next question - when you hire professional carpet cleaners, do they vacuum first or do I have to do that?

I have no idea. When I did have carpets, I cleaned them myself.

Remember, you're hiring them, not helping them.

I get huge groups of vultures in the vicinity of my house usually daily. I typically bury all of my bodies so I know it's not me attracting them.
@Kburjr has this problem too. How old are you?

I was looking at those Money Mailers or whatever. They'll clean the whole place for $75 bucks or something. Gonna compare those to the deals on Groupon. While it was very economical for me to use the Rug Doctor from the grocery store, it did take quite a bit of a time investment that I'm will to pay for this go 'round. The only thing that concerns me is this sneaky little fine print everyone has about 1st/2nd story and how going up stairs is extra. Have to confirm if they're bitching about indoor stairs only or if they are going to try to nail me for hauling all their equipment to my second story.

That's why you get estimates first. I'd also go with a professional established company, not some bum in a F150 and a carpet steamer.

Yeah, you're just paying some person to do the same thing you could do. The Rug Doctor rental makes their money off the cleaning solution; the cleaner itself is kinda crappy, but works if you have hours to go over the same carpet twice, and with gallons of solution. You're best buying a cheapie cleaner- Bissell and Hoover sell versions that cost $100 and cheap solution can be found at Wal-Mart of Home Depot. Then you can clean at your own pace and not worry about a $30/day late fee or whatever on the Rug Doctor. Depending on how much carpet you have to clean, it pays for itself by the second time you use it, if not the first.

i just don't want to do it myself though. Friggin' annoying and boring. after this pro cleaning, I think I'll pick up one of those little green things cali has so I can do my own maintenance. Right now, the goddamn pine needles are still rearing their stupid little heads and I just want someone to fix it for me :D

Oh, then pay more than $75 and just have it done really well, once a year.

Old enough.

It really is excellent for spot-cleaning my area rugs (my floors are hardwood, but I have a few area rugs, all of which are a light cream color, which of course means they show any li'l speck of dirt), and I've even used it as an upholstery cleaner on my couch. It made it look almost like new.

What little green things?

Little spaghetti and meatballs with a salad for dinner. Just got told I don’t need to be into work till 10 compared to 8. That will give me time to workout in the morning
