Honestly I miss the commute. That was when I got a lot of reading done. Not sure if my house is quieter than the office or vice versa. I'm a big routine guy; once I get in a groove I don't like to change it up.I think we're targeting July now. Was June a few months ago. I just hope the expectation is still the same... 1x a week in the office. As much as I sorta miss it, I know I'll start bitching about it the moment i'm forced to go back full time![]()
Man I am fucking miserable. Got some fucking saw dust in my eye on Saturday, scratched my cornea and lower eye. Of course that got infected, and I am just a hot mess. The light sensitivity is fucking excruciating.
The worst part about the whole fucking thing is, I ran a chainsaw for 3 to 4 hours, straight. Like almost 3 tanks of gas. Wore my safety glasses the entire time. When did I get shit in my eye? When we were done and eating pizza, a huge gust of wind came out of no where and blew shit from my shirt, and/or hat, right into my eye. I felt it scratch when I closed my sys lid, and ran inside to flush it out.
Never felt like it cleared, but I knew there was a scratch. SO SUnday I thought I would just tough it out and see what happens. Went to urgent care yesterday and there was multiple scratches and infection. Had to drive across town this morning and I was fucking dying! The light is so painful, I cant take it, and even trying to drive with one eye doesnt help. Might be the day I jump off the stratosphere.
Argh, GFY!![]()
Sucks I'm sure. You can be Pirate Pete now though.
I hafta drive, so F my commute. My workspace at home needs some sprucing up, but I'm avoiding unplugging everything and starting from scratch to make it happen. I think I like the separation of work/home because I'm pretty much one of those "always on" types since WFH. I need a break.Honestly I miss the commute. That was when I got a lot of reading done. Yeah, lots of my co-workers have lost their balance. I get emails and texts all hours of the day and night. Naturally, I ignore most of the ones I get during off-hours, but still sometimes I have to respond. I was on until nearly 7PM last friday because I was trying to get travel arrangements worked outI hafta drive, so F my commute. Thoughts and prayers.Well, because my boss is a big whiny-pants, I am now deemed "essential" and have to go get a moderna shot this Thursday and a second one next month.
woooooooOOOOOOOO!I was hoping to hold out another few months for that Johnson shot
AT LEAST I'M NOT FAT!!!Thoughts and prayers.

I told my new co-worker that unless she specifies that something is urgent, i won't answer her emails/texts after hours (7p is my usual cut-off) but I found myself struggling to stick to that when she was texting after 9 last night. This is why I'm glad that no one besides my boss has my cell phone number, and that my work laptop stays in my basement and I have my own laptop. I work a bit later than I used to when I was going into the office, but I'm "home" at around the same time, and I'm usually at my desk about an hour later than when I took the train in.I told my new co-worker that unless she specifies that something is urgent, i won't answer her emails/texts after hours (7p is my usual cut-off) but I found myself struggling to stick to that when she was texting after 9 last night. I've done this before... during a sex accident.... the night before Thanksgiving. I had to wear an eye patch for almost a week and the eye just constantly waters and hurts.
