Well DAMN... USC/Colorado game cancelled because USC doesn't have enough schollie players available due to positive tests AND contact tracing... :gaah:

Colorado at No. 18 USC canceled due to virus

"The conference said USC (3-0) did not have enough scholarship players available in a position group due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing. The position group is the offensive line, a source told ESPN's Kyle Bonagura.

The game will be declared a no-contest."

BLAH!!! :twitch:

Yeah, apparently we didn't have enough scholarship o-linemen.

My question is...how come they let us play the past 3 or 4 seasons when we clearly didn't have enough scholarship o-linemen (at least enough that could play). lol

I don't really understand WHY that even matters... :headscratch:

My guess would be player safety. Throw a bunch of walk on's out there and you're asking to get your qb and/or rb's killed. Even if an o-line suffers several injuries, they tend to still have enough scholarship players to cover.

I read that there were 2 players who tested positive and 5 more isolated through contact tracing. If they were all o-linemen or mostly o-linemen, add that to a player or 2 that may have already been questionable or already out due to injury...that's a lot to cover.

Hmmm... Then what's the sense of having "walk-ons" if you can't use them? :headscratch:

Curious tho... How many walk-ons does USC have, anyway?

It's not that you can't use them, but they are walk ons for a reason. It's one thing to have to plug one in here and there. USC had a walk on playing running back at the end of the season last year and I think, at least one in the defensive backfield either last year or the year before.

But you don't want an entire starting o-line full of them.

Not sure how many they have. I don't think that's a number that really ever gets published or announced.

Oregon, USC, Washington and Colorado are the remaining undefeated teams.

Colorado plays USC next week in a huge game in the PAC 12 South. Oregon plays Oregon State. Washington plays Washington State
So much of this is no longer true.

So Oregon is still overrated.
I figured out the key to beat UW and that is to play them Thanksgiving weekend because the team that plays them that weekend chokes, so it isn’t a Coug it
There isn’t a team that deserves to be in the playoffs from the conference.
Covid sucks
And Larry Scott and his superiors deserve to get permanent herpes where they constantly have to itch and the only cure is to emphasis the two revenue sports.

Larry Scott needs to show up to the PAC-12 offices and find all of his shit from his office out on the sidewalk.

Yeah, but pretty sure he put in his contract that his buyout is paid in full which is like 4.5 million or whatever. Not quite enough money to pay for the idiotic building the conference is renting out, but the conference won’t pay for pylon cameras either.

This should help our d-line next year. Especially if we lose Marlon Tuipolotu to the NFL as expected:

6'4" 310. Definitely a big transfer. lol

If we get Korey Foreman, our d-line could be a beast for a couple seasons.

That would definitely be the boost the Trojans need in their front 7

247 seems to think he'll got to USC, but Clemson is still in the hunt and apparently ASU is making a late push. Gonna be interesting.

Yeah, I haven't gotten a strong sense on where he's going. Seems like USC and Clemson are the frontrunners but ASU keeps coming up.

Buffs lead 14-10 at the half
