It still doesn't make any sense because the SEC is under contract with ESPN. It's just weird that someone is attributing this to Fox who has no say in SEC scheduling, and when this format has been discussed for the past month by a ton of sportswriters.I believe FOX proposed this because this will probably not officially be considered part of the playoffs, rather it will be the SEC's & B1G's method of choosing their 4 guaranteed playoff participants for each conference.
So essentially I guess these games under this FOX proposal are considered play-in games, not playoff games (they will be considered post-season conference games, just like the current CCGs)... and FOX probably will want the broadcast rights for the B1G's 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5 games. And ESPN will probably want the SEC's 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5 games.
It would create more inventory, and the networks would have to agree to pay for it.
