tOfficial “Weed Growers” Thread

Ran onto some video's on 'scroging' .
Looks like they were inside grows, wondering about this technique for outside/inground plants

This was interesting
it won't view here but just click on it.

1 plant scrog to a 3x5 net completely filled up.

Wednesday night forecast low will dip to 34-36 degrees.
all other night time temps seem to be 45-55 degrees.

Does 34 degrees fuck with the plant ??? Do I need to do anything, or just let it go. ?

Not all weed looks the same. Those "red hairs" are pistils or stigmas.

You need to look at your trichomes under a 30x magnifying lens to judge when your plant is done. It is a bit of a misnomer that once the stigmas are red, the plant is done. Much more accurate to look at the trichomes.
Ok
I got 3 pairs of reading glasses and looked hard at my plant. (it's all I had)
Sure enough, there are red hairs all over.

Don't have a 30x magnifier, so, not sure about the trichomes. If I can see them, what am I looking for exactly ???

Cover the plant(s) to protect from frost. Worked for me last week. Hard freeze coming tomorrow and Tuesday. Mine's hanging and drying now.

You can get a lens at any grow shop or amazon fer cheap af.

Trichomes clear? Not done.

Trichomes, some are clear, some are milky? Not done.

Trichomes all milky? Still not done.

Trichomes some milky, but many an ember color. Done.

70% ember is where ya wanna be. They've reached their highest amount of thc, terpenes and flavinoids. Never more than 80%, as that's when the plant starts to over-ripen and deteriorate.

More milky than ember is more of a cerebral, psychotropic bud, but it will have less THC, etc.

Suppose to drop to 32 degrees tonight.
Have it covered.
I don't think it will get that low though

Next 2 weeks, lows in the mid 40's/highs of 75

If I can just get past tonight, should have 2/3 more weeks before a real freeze.

Been pruning. A laborious task if ever.

But not without it's rewards.

I wear latex gloves otherwise it's all over you. And even then, you walk around like Pig Pen in Peanuts with a green cloud.

I have clippers to remove branches and little sewing scissors for trimming.

My glove and scissors get so fucking gummy with resins they can barely detach or scissor...

I scrape off the scissors with a Swiss army knife. But I soak the glove tips in moonshine to clean them off. Then I drink if it doesn't come off easily and needs to sit.

But the scrapings! I got 2 grams of this wicked, sticky, luscious finger hash. Little bits go right to your noggin'!

Then I'm handling the scissors and knife without gloves to clean them off properly. Found myself licking them. No point in wasting.

Fuck me gently! A glass or 2 of red wine to cleanse the green palate and Bob's yer uncle. He's my current uncle now for sure as I am literally buzzing.

Ergonomic scissors ftw.

You get lockhand with those sewing scissors, and I know it.

Trust me. Invest in the above pictured.

Started flushing it, might be too early.
Sounds like a couple of weeks of nice bud development.

What should I do now ???

Your plant is still outdoors, correct? @beardown07 , how does a person flush outdoor plants? I've never tried, but their roots are in soil, so it seems impossible to flush outdoor plants.

Yes, outside in the ground.

I've just been taking de-chlorinated water and flooding the roots every few days with a 5 gallon bucket.
Not sure if that works, but it's what I'm doing.

Rain today.
With some rain in the forecast in the next week.

Mold is a worry.
