Yep. This is the way I see it too. This is the yips, plain and simple. Having the yips in this sport can not only be so damaging to your team, it can be damaging to an athlete. Elena Mukhina was a Soviet gymnast pushed back fast from an injury for the 1980 Olympics. Her still injured leg gave out and the fall was so bad she ended up a quadriplegic and died young.I think it’s more than gymnastic yips.
The young lady needs therapy and support from people close to her. (More, I’m sure he already has both.)The night before she withdrew, NBC ran a solid chunk of time on her. Some of it about her being molested and the fall out. Her parents spoke about it, in front of an entire nation of viewers. No idea what that would be like. Especially half way around the world, with nobody around you besides other gymnasts, who clearly weren’t cared for properly by America’s gymnastic community
She buried a serious amount of pain and turmoil with pushing herself as an athlete. And the shovel broke.
Wish her nothing but the best in life. She has been an exceptional example to young people. Absolutely assume she will continue to be.
No more food delivery commercials though. Those were awful.
wait, snoop is out there commenting on this, i might have to start tuning in.
i just have to figure out when this stuff airs.Oh man….that first video with equestrian. I’m not even kidding…..put these guys on actual events and I’m super interested in the Olympics again.

Is anyone following this story about the athlete from Belarus who is now seeking asylum? Here’s a video that gives a brief synopsis.
CNN outside embassy where Belarusian sprinter took refuge
Pretty wild stuff that this is going on in today’s world. We only think of stuff like this country’s like NK but obviously it is still going on.
I've been following it. Saw she got a visa to stay in Poland.
Time to petition Webster’s to change the definition of douche nozzle to this photo.
I want one of those third placers who's just happy to make the podium to intentionally try to recreate that meme template.View attachment 37658
Somebody needed to get my dude a bottle of Cris to do it up right, but this is fucking awesome.
Oldest swimmer to win his first medal. Party on.
Was happy in Jr high when I broke a minute in the 400. Lol400 meter hurdles in under 46 seconds is fucking ridiculous. I remember in high school being proud when I first did that in the 300m hurdles, now add on that killer extra 100m and higher hurdles.

First I’ve heard of this.
