Top 5 Quarterbacks All Time

I'm in complete agreement with you here. The best QB of all time is the best signal caller, the most alert guy, the leader of the team, keeps stability in the huddle, and has to be a supremely talented athlete. The achievements are a byproduct, though come naturally with the greats. That said, my Top-5 are:

1. Tom Brady
2. Joe Montana
3. Peyton Manning
4. John Elway
5. Dan Marino

Honorable Mentions: Johnny Unitas, Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham, Roger Staubach, Aaron Rodgers
John Elway... lol

The main category when determining “best” is, and always has been, career accomplishments. Ever since Brady left everyone in the dust on that category the haters have distanced themselves from this being most important

ok... The second category when determining the best quarterback is leadership. QB is unlike any other position on the football field. The other players MUST see the QB as a leader and have confidence in him. Why? Because if the other players don’t have confidence in the QB they will not excel at their jobs. The famous story of Joe Montana walking in the huddle late in the game and casually saying “hey... is that John candy in the stands” is exactly what I’m talking about. He set the tone and then led the team on a game winning drive to win the SB. As great a story as that is nobody on the pats ever thought they were out of a game when Brady was on the field. Not when they were down by 10 in the 4th quarter in the Seahawks SB. Not when they were down 28-3 in the Falcons SB. Not even after the chiefs blew them off the field on national television and everyone was saying the pats dynasty was over then.

Best QB isn’t the biggest arm, best thrower, etc. If it were the category would be Best Arm on a QB. Being able to throw it a mile doesn’t even get you in the conversation about “who is the best QB without 1) titles/mvps and 2) leadership.

Therefore, the Best QB is CLEARLY Tom Brady. The second best QB is Joe Montana. You can have all the fun you want talking/debating the next 3 on your list
That’s just so many words man.

I can’t.

If you want Bill Russell over Shaq, fine.

you go ahead.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Joe Montana
4. Otto Graham
5. Johnny Unitas

If Mahomes wins this Super Bowl I might go ahead and put him on the list.

Otto Graham
Bart Starr
Joe Montana
Peyton Manning
Aaron Rodgers

GREATEST QB'S OF ALL-TIME
1. Tom Brady - it isn't close. He's isn't the most talented but he is a winner and a leader. If he wins one with BB that would even prove more that he is the greatest bc the system argument is completely out of the window, regardless, he is #1 easily.
2. Joe Montana - pretty much the same as Brady. Great leader and winner. He did have the greatest WR to ever play the game but regardless he was clutch just like Brady on the biggest stage.
3. Peyton Manning - again, he wasn't the most talented. He didn't run around and buy time but all these guys had amazing footwork in the pocket and amazing accuracy. Manning was incredible to watch, if it wasn't for Tom Brady who knows how many rings he would have won.
4. Aaron Rodgers - This is the tough spot. I think 1 and 2 are pretty clear. Peyton is pretty clear at least at this point at #3 but this is the tough spot. Rodgers is a winner and he did it for the most part without a clear #1 WR, hardly no running game and for the most part an average defense. Most talented but still top 5 QB imo.
5. Steve Young - very accurate, scrambler....he was a hell of a QB and underrated imo.

Honorable mention:
Johnny Unitas - could have very well put him on this list. He deserved a spot in here just as much as Rodgers and Young so I really have no problem with him making this list.

MOST TALENTED QB'S OF ALL TIME
1. Aaron Rodgers - easily #1 RIGHT NOW don't have to say much here.
2. Dan Marino - he was a gunslinger who threw for a lot of yards and TD's but he also made a ton of mistakes. His sack rate is high for a reason, maybe he didn't have the best OL's but he held the ball too long at times bc he couldn't rely on his legs. Talented but isn't a top 5 greatest QB.
3. Steve Young - have him in my top too but he was an amazing scrambler and very accurate like Rodgers.
4. Patrick Mahomes - already putting him on this list and probably soon could move him up to #2 honestly. He has talent gushing out of her limb of his body. Amazing to watch
5. Brett Favre - a gunslinger like Marino, at times like Marino he looked like the best QB EVER that's how talented those 2 guys were...they could make throws not one QB could make. Amazing toughness and a rocket arm.

Still not enough of a track record. It'd be like putting Russell Wilson and Eli Manning on the list. If he continues like he's going though, yeah, he'd be high on the list.

He at the top of my list.

Best QB I’ve ever seen.

I'm obviously biased being a life-long Packers fan, but I agree. Rodgers is the best QB I've ever watched play.

I'm not one to judge QBs just by how many Superbowls they have won because football is the ultimate team sport. To the people who do rank QBs by Superbowls, do you honestly think Trent Dilfer was a better QB than Dan Marino?

Rings isn’t the end all be all, but they do factor in, but ranking Brady first because he has the most rings is just dumb IMO

Rings matter but they are just one factor among others determining the best. Brady and Manning played each other quite a bit head to head with in my mind similarly talented teams and Brady got the best of him most of those times so as much as I love Manning, I can't put him ahead of Brady. I don't mean wins either, he played better than Peyton in those matchups.

Peyton had Brady’s number in the playoffs. I don’t see where anyone could rank Rodgers ahead of either though
