tOSU Locks Up Ryan Day 4-Life

I was mistaken, see above. I thought he was still with Philly. But agreed -- this is even worse. I was giving him credit this year lol.

No you weren't. Your exact post said you couldn't give credit to some "random defensive assistant" but now that it has been pointed out to you that you were an idiot again, you are quick to condemn "some random defensive assistant" for them being bad.

You literally did a 180 when you realized @ericd7633 was trying to support you

Yeah, I noticed that too. Can we give a defensive analyst credit or not?! When he thought he was part of a great defense the answer is no. When he realized he was part of a bad defense the answer is yes. Lmao.

Honestly, I'm not sold on the hire. I liked some of the other names out there that were being thrown around better. I disagree that it is a a slam dunk bad hire.

However, now that MnB is talking about how bad it is, and Ive witnessed him being right about two times in the many years I've been posting with this group, I'm starting to think it's gonna work out real nicely

Right. Credit FOR winning a super bowl. I thought @ericd7633 was being sarcastic in their chase for a Super Bowl win this year; IE giving Patricia credit for that and sarcastically saying "He was pretty fucking terrible in Philly last year." <- IE winning a super bowl.

I didn't realize he wasn't still on staff. I was attempting to suggest that even if you gave him credit for being on a super bowl team how you could possibly filter out the effect of an assistant on staff.

It's now even worse not because I value his time as an assistant any more or less, it's that any shred of credit I was open to giving him was entirely removed when Eric pointed out he wasn't on staff this year.

Since leaving the Patriots as DC, he's been fired by the Lions for sucking, not hired by a single team as DC, and apparently (news to me) was simply not renewed last year as a playcaller by Philly, and then the very next year their defense was awesome and they won the super bowl. LOL Now that's some hilarious shit.

0 college or recruiting experience
fired as head coach
fired as analyst/play caller
not hired by any team in 2024
hasn't lead a defense in almost a decade
hired by Ryan Day lol

I'm sure he'll, at worst be okay. I can't remember the last time OSU fielded a below avg defense. I don't think they'll be as good as last year, but that has more so to do with the personnel losses than the DC.

I look at it this way, Josh McDaniels is an asshole and he is a god awful HC but he has had tremendous success as an OC in the NFL. I would like the hire of him at Ohio State as OC even while having some trepidation about his lack of college experience.

Patricia is McDaniels in the defensive side of the ball, maybe without the asshole of a person part

You'll have to excuse me, since my season only ended 3 days ago, and not 6 weeks ago like other NFL teams. I can see where you would have thought me saying last year meant 2024. Damn Super Bowl!

Did you ever imagine the day that most of the country would be rooting for the Philadelphia eagles in a super Bowl?

Never would have imagined it. But it's weird I'm guessing a lot of people did against the Pats too. If we make it again next year, I'm guessing alot will root against the eagles.

Also, because eagles fans will become even more insufferable than we already are. Lol.

The Pats year I'm guessing you had some more bc of dynasty fatigue but it seemed like it was extra heavy this season with dynasty fatigue and especially the helpful calls Chiefs got all season

Newsflash, no one cares what they did against michigan. They won the natty.
I would've rather beaten michigan, but honestly, the way that game is just wrecking their entire fanbase like MnB more than makes it worth it.

Yeah, I think dynasty fatigue was a huge one. But after that first call against AJ on OPI, I understood where everyone was coming from in terms of the refs. Lol.

Oh, Patricia is a super ass hole. While at the Lions:

You know, kind of like this:

I wouldn't say that I don't care about losing The Game at all as I certainly would prefer they had won it, but given the fact that even with the current streak, Ohio State has completely ass blasted Michigan for my entire adult life, and that we just won a National Championship, I would say that losing The Game really doesn't mean much to me this time around.
