To be fair, Cal had a shit OL in 23 and especially in 24. He's definitely not a RB who's gonna beat contact, he needs a decent OL to really work. But his injury issues are a big concern regardless. Not sure how good OU's OL is gonna be this year, that will determine how well he does though.
 
He's coming off an ankle injury right? I was kind of surprised we went after a RB as we have a bunch there with experience already but clearly they see something in the guy and others do to to label him the #1 portal RB. Regardless we could sure use him as a punt returner.

Yep. A lingering ankle injury that pretty much hampered him all season. I doubt he transferred anywhere to settle for just being a return man though. He's a pretty decent receiver at RB there's all sorts of ways you could use him as long as he stays healthy which is the big question mark.

No man I'm happy with the running back room. Barnes and Sawchuck were both injured last year but are both proven guys. Taylor Tatum you know all about, a true freshman that couldn't hold onto the football. You have to think that gets better. And Xavier Robinson speaks for himself.

One interesting note:

Some other schools are using a 48-hour mandatory filing rule to detain some of their players from entering the portal on a more timely basis.

In other words, schools are hoping the House Settlement passes before being forced to enter a player’s name in the transfer portal. It’s an effort to retain the player by potentially deflating a player’s value, allowing their own school to be financially competitive for the player and/or a combination of both factors.

The move is unlikely to work. More key players, ones Texas may target, are expected to officially enter the portal in the next 24 hours.

Until the House Settlement passes there are no FMV guardrails on NIL. Other schools desperately want those guardrails when competing with Texas, Ohio State, etc.
 
Angelli in the portal. Must mean CJ Carr won the QB battle. Angelli was always pretty good when he played. Hopefully this means Carr is going to be a stud.

Carr or Minchey. Angeli was probably told he was not in the lead and probably short of that he was going to bolt. He only had 2 years of eligibility left
 
Nagy whacks David Stone. I guess he didn't like what he was paying for the former 5 stars 6 tackles last year and buried on the depth chart. Every player is just a 1 year rental now. The new college football.

Seemed like a potential ram, I guess the lamb fafo?

Rather than assist in motivating him, his handlers and many debtors would rather just shop him around and keep the cash flowing it seems.

they weren't the ones shopping him, all the Miami tampering is false.. They expected the same pay, not asking more like Nico was.. ou was the one telling him he had to take a cut. That is the reason why they are reaching out to other schools now.

Which brings me to the point... ou really fucked themselves perception wise.. I still think he returns only because other actual players on that roster have stepped up for him while ou fanbase turned on him (surprise!!).. from attacking him, to his own family.. who weren't the ones who stirred this shit up, btw. Good luck trying to bring in elite kids in now, knowing their value will be slashed 40%-50% if they don't make a dent in their true fish year.

Nagy, you want to play the production first game.. good luck.. I know your fanbase have made you the face of the program now (LOL)... better hope you hit on every FCS player you look for in the portal windows cause you are going to need it.

Welcome to the new and improved CFB. When $$$$ is the crux of the matter, there’s gonna be some shifting of personnel. Period. No more pussyfooting around, we all knew this was gonna happen.

OU’s “perception” now is they don’t fuck around and if you’re about that bag then there’s nothing to worry about. You want to dog it and smoke weed and play video games and fuck off your studies the piper will come knocking and he don’t give a fuck about how many stars you have.
