It's gotta come out. Has a mass on it that they are 90% sure is renal cell carcinoma. Going to see the surgeon on Monday morning at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. He's an expert in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Once it's out, they can run the biopsies and so forth.
Whoa! I thought you were joking about the kidney earlier on.

Sorry to hear that, but sounds like you got it all under control. Hope everything goes well!

Hopefully get it all out during the surgery and everything looks good on the biopsies.

I gotta say when you were randomly bragging about being an organ donor a few years ago I never thought that info would be beneficial. But here I am looking forward to this thing being delivered to my doorstep tomorrow. I already have a nice marinade ready.

Trust me, you don't wanna knosh this one

Uh, that would mean they didn't have to take it out.....

But I understand your sentiment there.
They don't even biopsy kidneys. Like testicles, they remove first, and test second. Something to do with potentially spreading the cancer around.

There's a slim chance that my tumor is not malignant, but it's pretty large. Since this is a slow-growing cancer, it's been building for a long time.

Also, I have a horseshoe kidney, which complicates things a bit but they're experienced with those.

How’s your other kidney / overall renal function?

I was sitting in traffic and rolled the window down. Then I felt something touch my face so I swatted at it and felt the sting. I looked at my hand and I had the stinger so that's why I thought it was a bee (or yes, bees). But I don't think it was two...i probably smashed the stinger into my face when I swiped at it because one "bite" is significantly bigger than the other. So he probably got me once then I used his stupid stinger and got my own self with it :tsk:

Male bees don't have stingers. His main junction is to shoot his juice into the queen. Once done, he dead.

It's actually great, all my blood work shows really good creatine levels and normal function. I have no symptoms. These are all good signs for the recovery period.
Good to hear.
