Has your opinion of Sherrone Moore changed?

  • Yes, he deserves time to develop his program

  • No, this was just a fluke win and doesn't change my overall opinion

Hiring coordinators to appease HS recruits who could also now just transfer at anytime is not a good plan.
Agreed. I just think it could work out that way. Sloan is good with QB's and has a great relationship with Underwood and we now have an opening for an OC

I feel this win against the Buckeyes is a box that is checked. I don't think it will buy him, say 5 more years. Moore did beat Michigan State in year one. Yes, I know the Spartans were awful. Michigan faced a 4-8 Northwestern team and a 5-7 Michigan State team. The rest of the teams were 0.500 or better. Only lost to Indiana by 5 points. They faced 4 teams that went 44-4. I ain't even mad about this year being 7-5.

Now, all that aside, I want to know what the process would be if the Wolverines didn't land Underwood. Is he gonna do more this offseason than this last one? Would they go with J. Davis next season? Look for a QB in the portal? There are quite a few out there.

You know what would be funny?

If Michigan would hire Tom Herman as their new OC.

He still can’t be terrible but it buys him a hell of a lot more time than say RR or Hoke got. He won’t even be questioned until year 4 now. And next year sets up to actually be pretty good on paper, (schedule wise) so long as he gets some talent in the portal.

He's going to need to hit a HR with his OC hire, that's for sure. Underwood isn't sticking around if next year's offense isn't a dramatic improvement over this year, and if that happens Moore is in deep shit.

I'm not sure we've ever had a home run hire at OC but what we do need is one that can develop a QB, more so than one who's an elite playcaller.
