UM Fans: Has your opinion on Sharrone Moore changed?

Has your opinion of Sherrone Moore changed?

  • Yes, he deserves time to develop his program

  • No, this was just a fluke win and doesn't change my overall opinion

Rightfully so, the postmortem on "The Game" will be focused on Ryan Day, Ohio St's failure to beat Michigan, the fight, and implications for the playoff seating. But here is a question that I have not seen on here:

Has Sherrone Moore put himself into a different light for Michigan fans? He arguably will never need to pay for a meal or a beer in Ann Arbor again just for yesterday's game. But the bigger question, have fans changed their view on him? To say the cupboard was bare in Ann Arbor would be an understatement. Michigan was supposed to ride its defense, their strength. The defense was injury riddled and disappointing. For several games Michigan didn't even yield more than 100 yards passing among a carousel of no name QB's. We heard things like Moore is just a place holder, an impulsive hire, or it was too late to hire anyone else when Harbaugh left for the NFL. He has two wins against Ohio St, the top rated QB committed. Does this change your view?
Good question and post.

I was never in favor of getting rid of Moore. This year was a rebuild. Many players drafted or free agent into the NFL, some moved in the portal, and many coaches moved on. I was hoping for an 8-4 season, but 7-5 with a victory over ohio state is better. You don’t hire a guy to fire him. Another year for sure, maybe two, and then I’ll have an opinion. I will vote yes.

Welp, hopefully none of you michigan boys were fans of Kirk Campbell. He gone.

Lol that's not happening, hilarious how you guys throw some NIL money out and think youre now flipping everyone.
No, definitely not. The fact they are able to try is what excites Michigan fans. They flipped the #1 recruit in the nation from LSU (helped he was from Michigan). Flipped a top 100 CB from Clemson and a top 50 DE from Auburn, just off the top of my head.
I'm sure this isn't the last of it either.

I was going to post that. Just heard it on the radio when I pulled back into my house.
May I recommend a young HS coach?

Gotta give Moore credit for being smart enough to move on quickly when things clearly arent working. Same can't be said for Day
I can’t remember the last time we fired a coordinator this soon after the regular season. Even down brown wasn’t fired until the end of December. This is a really good sign. Gives us the full timeline to do a national search and isn’t putting us behind others.

Also. Ohio state lost to a Michigan team that fired its OC practically the next day.

I have a feeling Moore is going to be trying to get Joe Sloan from LSU. It will cost a pretty penny to do that though.

I didn't think LSU's offense was very good this year. Nussmeier was fine, but not great and the running game barely averaged over 4 YPC on the season. I'd rather have Mullen just because he generally had strong running games to go along with an efficient passing game (though the running game some years at FLA wasn't quite as good, but Trask was great in 2019 and elite in 2020). He's been able to get good usage out of mobile QBs, which would be great for a program whose identity is running the ball.

I mention Sloan because Underwood loves the guy. He was the main reason he committed to LSU.

I suppose there's also the question of how much that's actually Sloan running the offense, or is it Kelly running the offense in proxy of Sloan. The offense felt very much like a Kelly offense.
