Church is a body or group of believers. They were later called Christians. Before then they were known as Christ's followers, i.e. his "church". He handed the church to Paul when he ascended to the right hand of the father in heaven according to "Catholic" doctrine.
If you even heard about Christ it was because of the Catholic church as they were the ones who wrote the New Testament. You can argue wrongly as much as you like but whatever religion you claim to follow, if it is a Christian based faith it is based on the writings of Catholics. You know why that is dummy?
“And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19).
The Catholic Church was then on, the only Christian faith until the mid 16th century.
