Under the Porch with the Guide Bear!

PSA is the indicator they use for the prostate. For other cancers the white cell count is the first indicator. You go every 6 months but my oncologist has me on a 4 month watch. Just had a check the middle of July and my count was 16.8. Said it was good for now. Go the middle of Nov. for the annual PET scan. Then we'll see where things really are.
Was looking at MD Anderson's site and saw something called a pencil laser proton therapy. It's a type of radiation, but they pinpoint the laser on each cell instead of a general area radiation. I'm going to wait to see the results of the PET scan before doing anything. That sounds a lot better than chemo and body radiation. It should be easier to do with on the lymphoma cells. But for now still on that "watch and wait" thingie.
Whoa, hold on a second! I thought we were talking about your Dad? So you yourself has prostate cancer, yes? I'm sorry to know that but it sounds like you have a good shot at a cure. I only had the prostate cancer for about 3 1/2 years before it got in my bones and that was eight years ago in May. Good luck to you Jon, keep that shit outta your bones and you can live with it w/o any problems.

All right, that's all good news then, thanks Cam! That burn in thing from a static picture, I thought that was a thing of the past so I'm glad you reminded me. It's not hooked up yet, I still need to fasten the TV mount on the wall.

Yes...it used to be a problem with plasmas especially. If you read up on how OLEDs work though...…each individual pixel lights up independent of one another. That's how they are able to reach such dramatic contrast ratios and black levels. That also means that if you, for example, have a CNN logo or whatever in the corner of the screen for 12 hours a day for a month those pixels illuminating the logo would wear unevenly from the rest of the TV and you would have a CNN logo ghosted into the image even if you were watching another channel.

This is a picture of a test unit that a website did. They were really hammering it though. You'll be good if you just don't leave it on overnight or watch the exact same thing all day everyday.

IMHO Plasma/OLED are for theatrical experience, there are slight benefits to gaming but some of the better contrast ratio monitors/tv's will do just fine illuminating the soldiers in the dark en sech, burn in from HUDs are annoying and if you use it for something like that (similar to a CNN ticker) you'll get a burn in even after 1 full day itll have ghosting

No prostate cancer. It's a B cell lymphoma. It's across the belly area, as he called it, and a couple of spots in the chest. And as you say, I can go with it for awhile before something has to be done.

HAHAHA! If @Fish in a bowl don't explain his "almost 40 years of construction experience", I may think his claim is suspect...

But there is NO substitute for experience and in almost 40 years, one could easily become a celebrated Dunce Crafter, crafting with plastics and macaroni noodles and whatnot.

I can't wait to see what you created, how very exciting!
Worked for my Dad as a painter for his contracting business in the summers from 8th grade to college. After short stint in college and having to get married went to coal mine construction for the UMWA insurance to pay for the new kid. UMWA construction, they do it all. Hanging iron one day, pouring concrete the next, hanging steel roofing or siding panels the next. Worked my way up to lead sheetmetal worker. Still painting on the side. Then worked maintenance for the state of IL for 4 years.

Got a chance to get in the Insulator's union, highest paid trade at the time outside of the elevator guys. Did that for over 30 years. Worked in the sheetmetal shop at the refinery making aluminum patterns for insulation protection for the last 3 years. Here is a job my son and I did years ago. Did a lot more intricate stuff at the refinery but taking pics is banned at the refinery.

Bought my house as a 50x30 in 1978. Upgraded 60 amp fuse box to 200 amp breaker box. Knocked out some interior walls and changed floor plan. Took out oil furnace and added duct work and heat pump. Added 2 wood stoves. Added garage, foyer, family room, dining room additions to exterior. Resided in vinyl. New windows with PLASTIC brickmold. Added large rear deck. Added small front deck with pergola. Added 3 anderson sliding glass doors. Built 30x50 pole barn in the 80's. Metal roof and 2nd pole barn added by contractor after 2012 tornado. Insurance wouldn't pay to tear down old pole barn so I cabled it off and saved it as a 42x30.

Anything else you need to know, slapdick? Don't you or your queer bear ever question my qualifications again.

yea I don't think I'd have one if I were a hardcore gamer. I have played something like GTA for 10 or 12 hours on it before and not had any burn in. That's not common for me though. I do watch cfb pretty much all day on it on Saturdays and don't have any burn in and I have probably 10k hours on it. I feel like it was a bigger problem with the original ones than it is now. They can dynamically alter the brightness of static images and logos now to extend pixel life.

Had a TV at the Baton Rouge airport like that. They left it on CNN 24/7.....

yea even LEDs can do that after awhile. You'll usually see that on TVs in lobbies or restaurants that play the same channel all day everyday. I ate at Texas Roadhouse a week or two ago and every TV in that bitch was like that.

Reminds me of old video poker machines at these truck stop casinos. They not even plugged in and you can see the game....

You’re definitely not qualified as a grows keeper as that grass needs some help.

Insulation is not construction.

For low level construction trades like "Insulators". Hahaha

40 years later and he's still on the installation crew.....:meh:

Nice addition to the shotgun home.

If you subtract the 30 years he wrapped pipes, he has maybe the summers he worked with his dad, and destroying his own house for years.

Home inspection is definitely not construction.

Closer to grifting.
I didnt claim it to be construction, or that I had 40 years of construction experience. I have about 15 years of real construction work experience, that applies to what I do now. I didnt specialize in fiberglass origami

Outside of my zoysia I don't give much of a fuck about the grass. It was 2 ft tall when we got back from Florida. Down in florida wife kept saying "I hate to think how tall the yard is getting". I'd say stfu about it, I don't care.
