Bruce Springsteen is your boss?

Good Morning, Sunday Armchair Sinners!

Today's Mass will be a short affair as I gotta get hobby busy before Bunny brings a carpet cleaner home!

I'm having trouble making my own pictures again, the crap just won't work for me anymore so I have to use an old tired picture to set the tone for Mass today.

Today is about Confession & Redemption and High Bishop Two Canes has advised me to begin!
Friends Repent GIF by Love in Kilnerry

This whole business of putting @Fish on ignore was a farce.

Now leave me alone, I gotta go walk my goldfish!

EFF that redemption shit until further notice!

Is Tony Danza yourn boss? How's your weekend going? Are your kids being good?
Kids are being kids oldest does her thing while the 2 boys constantly play, pester, annoy, fight, play some more. Living the dream

Spring isn't popping as fast as I thought it would. Spring began a week ago and today's picture doesn't look very different. Now in another week, I betcha we see big changes!

And now for a fish tank update and 3 pics.

The temp is up to 72 degrees, its about four degrees warmer than the room temp in the basement because the lights cause some heat. I have small usb powered fans that I plan to use to help cool the LED plates.

This first picture of a terra cotta tray, this thing got removed from my tank because it was too wide for the space and I will be replacing it with a narrower taller pot with the same plants.

And this next picture is looking up at the underneath of the floating plants. These root systems on these floaters are amazing, so delicate looking and substantial! They are like 'filters' and I think they actually do filter the water to a degree. I know for a fact that some of my floaters roots remove certain toxins in the water.

And this last picture is looking at the floating plants from above. After I finish my break it's back to hobby business!

Thanks a lot Bronco! I want tadpoles now! But seriously, I do, thanks to you. I can NOT let this late spring early summer pass by without collecting critters! HELP ME! HAHAHA!

That stream seems a perfect place for frogs. I don’t know how much ahead of me you guys are, but I think about Memorial Day you might see some tadpoles.

Spring peepers we’re already singing last weekend here. But they’re pissed now, winter snuck back in.

So I have a few ideas on how to gather some small critters for my tank.

1. The pet shop. I been searching (not research!) the internet and there are quite a few so called 'tropical' fish that can tolerate lower temps. These would not be native fishes but I'm willing to be flexible!

2. Bait shops. These places sell minnows and there are some very cool looking minnows out there. Also the bait shop employees or owner might be able to help me find the Red Fin Pickerel that would be the top predator in my tank. Or perhaps other smaller game fish.

3. Neighborhood kids. I would want to talk to their parents too, but some eager kids catching things for me? And I will pay them for their efforts. I won't pay for their time but I would pay them for the critters they bring me. I'm gonna go to the bank and get about 25 two dollar bills and I will be pay $2 for each animal, including dragon flies.

@broncosmitty , I'm thinking/guessing that we are about three weeks ahead of you in the weather. Maybe keep an eye on when your trees leaf out and I'm doing the same, for a friendly comparison!:beer2:

I'm not sure if I have ten or 11 goldfish, the shiny swimmers won't hold still long enough to get a good count. But it is too many. It's not too many now because they are small but I still would like to have only 7 goldfish for now. My favorite thing when I'm watching my fish is when they swim against the current. They do it often and they do it it in groups, I saw eight of them doing it at the same time.

And they are almost always hanging around each other, sometimes they pair off and occasionally, not very often, a single goldfish will go off by itself, never for very long though.

Here's some pics from last night. I keep moving/changing things up a little bit in my tank and I stirred it up again last night but as I mentioned earlier, it clears up really fast now.

This last pic is the plants that were in the terra cotta tray. In a few weeks they should be well established, I hope.

You thinking of getting dragonfly nymphs in there too?

You thinking of getting dragonfly nymphs in there too?
Well I wasn't until you mentioned it! I read about the nymph stage and some of them live for several years as nymphs, 100% aquatic.
I was interested. And then I read this:
All dragonfly nymphs are fierce and voracious predators. They kill and eat any animal that they can catch including shrimp and fish of their size. Once dragonfly nymphs are in your aquarium they will start hunting non-stop until you deal with them. In some cases, they can even force to restart the aquarium.

So I think I will pass on them little badasses. I have a window set-up that is a screened in cage with a 20 gallon long aquarium at the bottom and I thought it would be fun to try dragon flies. I used to keep grey tree frogs and those little green lizards called anoles. I would catch them in my yard. I would catch the frogs at night off the side of my house and I used a butterfly net to swoop the lizards off of bushes.

Kinda crazy they’re predators like that. I never woulda guessed.

I remember once when camping my little cousin found a dragonfly just starting to break out of its pupa. He watched intently all day as it worked its way. Then another hour as it dried its wings. Finally it was ready to fly. And about two seconds into the flight a swallow swooped in. Dinner time.

Cool and fascinating story! Nature is the BEST show on Mother Earth!

I might get some freshwater shrimp. They are red and I could get ten of them for $40 from Amazon. I bought all my plants through Amazon and they are a bit pricey but the selection of varieties is big and all the plants I bought online have been very carefully packaged and have been delivered in excellent shape.

So listen to this friends, I want to talk about my experience joining the Crew!

Here's the problem though. My Commander, AKA Crew Leader, it's Petey G and on the open forums, he actually DENIES his lofty role as
Left Tennet Colonel Gozentite! So I put Petey on ignore! That way I can talk about the Crew w/o getting shut down, don't nobody tell 'eem, okay?

Here's a picture of my Confirmation Hearing, we're just waiting for the rest of the Crew!
