GAME University of Varsity Blues @ #13 Notre Dame 7:30 EDT NBC

Funny that USC is either really good or really bad. There isn't any middle ground with them. Kind of sucks as college football is better with at least a decent USC team.

I disagree. Them sucking is most definitely good.

Remember when ND fans used to hate BK?

Lmao. We also took a knee on 1st and goal from the 3. I wish we would have slammed another one in the endzone on this guys dumbass.

He still does a lot of dumb shit quite frequently, but overall he's done a good job at ND. Excited to see what happens in 2022 and 2023 with how he's recruiting.

I still hate him. He’ll leave the place better than he found it. But he’s stubborn and wanting.

I think they wanted to when he started calling timeouts but the false start threw cold water on that. Fighting to put it in the endzone from the 7 instead of the 2 invites a fluke fumble return or something stupid like that. But yeah would have liked to shove it up his ass for taking the TO’s.

lol

every time I see Notre Dame, all I think about is when that Toadman dude went off the rails when that Catholic church burned down.

@Peter Gozintite , you still buddies with that guy?

TV off... Back to my regularly scheduled "chill" mode or I probably should say, "crying in my beer mode"... :pout:

They did get it back to one score with plenty of time left to get the ball back and tie the game. But, they didn't lose because they ran out of time. They lost because when they got it back to within 1 score...our defense decided to remember that they suck at tackling.

I mean, we wouldn't want to tackle a guy for a short gain, or even a loss of yards when letting him break the tackle and having to chase him down is so much more exciting.

As for calling those timeouts, that was likely practice for a time when they may actually be in a situation with a chance to win the game. There was so little accountability under Helton, that Williams is literally almost having to teach these kids from scratch. Don't know if you noticed that every time a USC player committed a penalty, he came out of the game. That's because he's having to teach them that penalties are bad. It's the 7th game of the season and that's the kind of shit he's still having to try to fix.

I will say that there were 2 things that I thought were encouraging...we got it back to within 1 score with time left to get the ball back and win...and that was the best our running game has looked in a long time.

Yeah I think there was a hot mic at one point might have been that late hit called on #42 near the goal line. The coach said get him out. He was one of their best defenders and it was a goal line situation. Got to respect a coach who teaches those negative consequences

Yeah... and we had a "bye week" to practice too... like it did any good... :rolleyes2:

I'm not sure we even get to 5 wins... :drink:

Yeah, I think we are seeing just how little accountability and emphasis on basic fundamentals there was under Helton. There are improvements, but not enough yet to beat good teams...or at least not beat them consistently.
