GAME University of Varsity Blues @ #13 Notre Dame 7:30 EDT NBC

Yeah, I think we are seeing just how little accountability and emphasis on basic fundamentals there was under Helton. There are improvements, but not enough yet to beat good teams...or at least not beat them consistently.
We may not even beat too many "BAD" teams, the way things are looking now. :rolleyes2:

Arizona (at home) will test THAT theory next Saturday, though... :heh:

Lmao. We also took a knee on 1st and goal from the 3. I wish we would have slammed another one in the endzone on this guys dumbass.

Don't know who Anthony Morales is, but he apparently doesn't grasp context...either that, or he does and just needs attention.

Here is the full quote:

"I feel like we ran out of time. We made way too many mistakes against a really good football team. We all made mistakes and we took turns making them".

Definitely can be interpreted differently than what was actually said. But he still did say, "I feel like we ran out of time." Which I interpret that as if the game were another quarter or whatever it would have been different. When that's not the case.

The reporter shouldn't have said what he did about USC not losing. That's some BS if the quote is what was said.

if they played for an additional four quarters, I would take USC by 2 scores

amen

To be fair, they did pull to within a touchdown with plenty of time left to get the ball back and tie the game. USC had some momentum, the o-line was actually opening holes for the backs and the crowd had gotten quiet.

Then our defense remembered they suck at tackling and decided to add in a PI and a late hit, just to be sure.

I also think he was alluding to the mistakes that were made as part of the reason for "running out of time''. So, in that respect, I tend to agree. Meaning, had they started playing better before the 4th quarter, they may have been in a better position to win.

He's never been a head coach before, so he's having to answer questions he's not used to and he hasn't really learned "coach-speak" yet. lol

Yeah they got it to within 8, but USC struggled on defense all night. I can understand if they scored when they did, and then we ran out the clock, but we scored another TD and then stopped your offense again as well.

I agree about the mistakes part. USC had a lot of them. I think getting a new coach in will do wonders for the program.

Maybe both programs can be good the same year for once. Lol. We sucked for the most part in the 2000's. And now USC has been pretty bad since 2010(by their standards) with some good seasons mixed in. 2005 feels like forever ago. Feels like this game has lost some luster.

I don't particularly agree that they complete the comeback. But I understand and agree with the logic behind what he said.

As long as he holds the players accountable. The talent is there. The right coach could have them competing for a playoff spot next year...2023 at the latest.

Williams is spot on with what he's doing as far as what the program needs. He just doesn't have the experience. I'm hoping that whoever they hire keeps him.

Yeah, the rivalry is always better when both are good. Hopefully USC will be good enough next year to get it back to where it's supposed to be.

If you don't know when USC-ND are playing then I'm questioning your college fandom. Might be a down year but it's still one of the biggest rivalries in college football. I always catch some/all of this game, Texas/OU, Bama/Auburn, Army/Navy, and Florida/Georgia

As Brady Quinn says is the only comeback he has when Bush and Leinart start talking smack to him...''You guys got Aunt Becky thrown in jail''. lol
If he really wanted to be sour about it he can ask Reggie how his Heisman Trophy looks in his house.

I'd bet privately he does since they're friends. But doesn't do it publicly. In all of the interviews I've seen and heard with him, and watching him on the FOX pre-game show...he seems like a good dude. He's part of the reason that I like the FOX show better than Gameday.
