I don’t see his value.Facts that we have so far:
- Team is 3-0
- Defense is top 10 in multiple categories (YPP, Yards per drive, pts per drive)
- Offense is 104th in Yards per play
- QB is under 50% competition percentage
- QB is the one leaving for a better opportunity?![]()
What's going to be fascinating is that at some point, a good portion of the team will realize they hold the power and threaten to quit mid season without compensation. If the Iowa football team tomorrow decides to not play unless they each get X amount of money, it fucks up the entire system and probably causes a domino effect. And while no one was looking the system consumed itself
Michigan State did that last season before the Iowa game. What's going to be fascinating is that at some point, a good portion of the team will realize they hold the power and threaten to quit mid season without compensation. No school except Michigan has that bad of a culture to do something like that. Figures you would think that. What's going to be fascinating is that at some point, a good portion of the team will realize they hold the power and threaten to quit mid season without compensation. Yup. But failed on the follow through. If a team actually does just quit and do as this QB did "take a redshirt" then it would be pretty impactful throughout CFB, especially if it were a major team.Michigan State did that last season before the Iowa game.
Kid went 2 for 8 last week against my high school and we are like Auburn bad this year."I think that one million could turn into 100 million one day,"
Kid and his father are already banking on him being drafted high and getting a big contract as a QB in the NFL. WTF. So much shit can happen in that time. Injuries, lack of progression, failure, etc. Idiot if true.
So, when do you think CFB players go on strike? What's going to be fascinating is that at some point, a good portion of the team will realize they hold the power and threaten to quit mid season without compensation. I think what's most interesting is that it doesn't evren need to be all -- if one team does it, especially early in the season, it kills the rest of their schedule instantly. So, when do you think CFB players go on strike?
That would be a concern that the schools have signing a CBA. That said, it's going to happen at some point. So, when do you think CFB players go on strike?
I’m not sure “they” want policing for anything by anyone. Just allow “market forces” to take care of it all. At least that is what it looks like.I disagree, this needs to be completely under control of the school. They can fundraise and keep those funds separate but unless the school is involved there is no way to have any control. If you just let JoeBob's Auto pay a kid a million dollars to attend in return for appearing at the dealership one day then this is what you get.
But if you move it under the control of the school then auditing just has to happen through that schools NIL department, it makes the policing of it all fall to the school rather than the NCAA or some other body.
I think the benefit from this will be the future players/schools. “Nothing is a total waste, it can always serve as a bad example.”Yeah this is a tough one. I don't like that schools could be out there recruiting and offering money that isn't paid and then they get away with it. But I also don't like a quitter who bails on his team.
I don't see many outcomes where the kid ends up winning. Now that this is out the list of schools willing to deal with him is greatly reduced. If there is a school offering more money, they can't put it in writing. Assume the kid sits the rest of the season and has his one year of eligibility. How many schools want to deal with him? That one school knows there is zero market for the kid so maybe their offer gets reduced. What's the kid gonna do then? Almost seems it would have been better to not quit but just make a giant stink on social media. Then the kid gets the attention on the school like he wants but comes across as a team player for continuing to go out there while big bad school "exploits" him.
His dad can suck my ass. His little shit kid came here thinking A&M was handing out NIL to everyone and forgot how to actually earn playing time. Was too interested in fucking around and expecting his HS stats to carry him to a starting position and sulked when he wasn't handed the spot. Sounds like he fell for the UNLV NIL promises as well if he is speaking up now.on that Thamel thread on twitter.. Tony Grimes dad is also talking about how aggy did his son the same way @fordman84
