If Dallas doesn't win the SB, I hope we lose in the first round. Get McCarthy out of here and Payton in. Worth another year of despair to get rid of him.
If it means sending a 1st or even a 2nd to NO, then no to Payton.

Yes Dallas would be the perfect club for Payton. Jerry would give up the draft pick and compensation too for Payton. Only problem is Jerry would have to step back a bit.

I know Payton cut some coaching teeth in Dallas but he has as many SB appearances and wins as McCarthy and they both became head coaches in 06 and were handed HOF quarterbacks. They're the same guy to me.

Texans will Texan their QB position in 2023 and completely fuck it up again.

(I actually can't laugh that team is damn good)

Also if I were a betting man (which I am but that's besides the point) I'd bet Lamar ends up on the Raiders. That just feels like a move Al would do by any means necessary and I doubt that apple has fallen far from the tree with Captain Kangaroo, especially with that shiny new-ish stadium/city.

Payton isnt coming here anyways.
I can save you time worrying about it.
I disagree, feels like he is holding out for them. Just a feeling, no real hard evidence though. As flyingV, stated a team like the chargers would be perfect for him. But I doubt that situation will be opened since the Chargers are back in the Playoffs.

Still feel like he’ll go to Dallas after they lose in Tampa in 2 weeks.

Doubt it takes that, I would think it is in the 4th or 5th round, with maybe a swap in there as well.

Except Payton knows how to win and is creative, isn't scared of his own shadow. McCarthy says whatever Jerry wants, that's how he got the job, and coaches like a scared little girl.

Payton gone also means Kellen Moore gone and I think that would be best for the team also. Sadly it means Dan Quinn gone too, but I'm okay with that too.

The 49ers really gave up all those picks for Lance just for Mr. Irrelevant to be their best QB
amazing how often that happens. Brady was damn near Mr Irrelevant. Dallas draft Aikman early then spent a lot to draft Steve Walsh.

I already see it.

Texans will pass on a QB this season, draft Bo Nix next season, then we will end up with the double whammy of the Texans Curse combined with the OD Curse.

I blame @DayButtAssMans’s

Correct. Never understood the Lance pick. They got it right in other areas of the draft at least. 49ers haven’t gotten the quarterback draft right since Montana.

Payton might have gotten a second super bowl if not for the bullshit pass interference was it non call versus rams at end of nfc title game a few years ago. Need too look it up.

I actually could see the intrigue with him as a prospect, just not worth what they gave up to get him.
