Upcoming Week 9. What Ya Got?

I thought you meant Michigan. My bad. MSU is basically as bad as they were last year, just without Kenneth Walker; who also happened to be the only won last year's matchup with Michigan.

Michigan States run defense finished in the top 10 last year, I believe. This year it's awful. They matched up well against Michigan last year and terrible against Ohio State bc they coukdnt stop the pass and were forced to abandon KW3

#15 -- But if you really look at those numbers, even those are suspect. The reason they did so was mostly because teams simply didn't run the ball on them. I think they finished like 100-110 in terms of rush attempts faced because everyone was lighting them up with their terrible secondary.

Their secondary is just as bad this year. I'm not sure why I am having to try and convince you Michigan State was a better team last season

They were. But my argument is that it was entirely because of Walker. A bit like Michigan with Denard in Hoke's first year, vs. without Denard in Hoke's second. In terms of total defense, MSU finished last year at #110. They currently sit at #105. if you plopped walker back on this team, MSU is likely sitting at 6-1, with a loss to Ohio State in similar fashion to last year.

Your argument has almost nothing to do with my initial comment.

Who was a worse match up for MSU last season? Ohio State

Who is this season? Doesn't matter bc Michigan State has not shown to be good at any part of the game this season

Therefore, if Michigan loses this season, then there are problems

Coon Dog Aggies are ripe for pickin'?
I think they’re gonna have a combination of being full of themselves after beating Bama and looking ahead to UGA next week and come out flat. Kentucky is good enough to beat em if Tennessee doesn’t take em seriously, and I think that’s what’s gonna happen

Definitely think you're right I saying that Tennessee has a flat game against Kentucky. I think Hooker does enough for them to bring home the win in the end though

They lost 34-7 to Minnesota. No running back is worth 27 points.

And you think if you take him out, no rb scores at all?
Given their backups, especially last year, that is entirely possible. In 2020 they had 0 rushing TD's. Having a guy like Walker also opens up the passing game because people devote coverage to him. that's why MSU's passing game looked so much better last year, even with the same guys returning this year.

I just looked it up, they went from #122 in rushing in 2020, to #53 in 2021 and are now back down to #116. I think that's a directly linked to a single player, Walker.

Their an entire offense took a jump forward last year. Passing numbers also jumped thru the roof. Maybe that and offensive line play helped those rushing numbers. They all play off of each other. Chalking it up to a single player is asinine.

Walker is a helluva back, and he's starting to show it for Seattle too. But there's a reason rbs aren't drafted as high or paid as much compared to other positions. A shorter shelf life and because they are much easier to replace production wise. Rb's aren't worth an extra 3-4 tds per game over their backups.

Walker’s offensive line was like Barry Sanders offensive line. The defensive backs were two yards past the line of scrimmage before the RB touched the ball.

Are you saying Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, etc weren’t much better than their backups?
